If you are a couple of adults recovering from a concert night and don't want to wait 45 minutes for a 'breakfast' place. Go here, have a coffee and bailey's. You won't be disappointed. Had the French toast and was very happy with it!
Best Montreal smoked meat sandwich in town! Fantastic service!! Love their burger too, but I'd strongly suggest they turn the baseball patty into an American smash style. It's absolutely delicious, but very challenging to eat.
Was very excited to eat here because of all the photos on Google of the delicious looking food but was greatly disappointed! My friend and I went on our lunch breaks and the drive is 4 minutes from work. We walked in, there is a sign that reads "please wait to be seated". So, we waited. The place looked nice, and had a dining section and a lounge section but I read that it was also 18+. A change made this year, I believe. Neither sections were full but we stood and waited for ten minutes. In the ten minutes of waiting, we weren't even greeted. One man walked by and said "She'll be right with you" with no eye contact at all or "Hey folks, sorry about the wait! Someone will be right over!" A lady who was serving on the dining side did make eye contact with me TWICE, but still did not come over or give any gesture that we will be helped anytime soon. Another lady from the lounge side came to seat us and took our drink order. We only had an hour so we asked if we could place our food orders right away as well. And I'm gonna put this out there that I've worked in the restaurant industry since I was 13 in all areas so I am very patient and courteous with all staff and tip very well. However, the serving staff didn't seem very friendly towards us. They weren't rude. But no smiles, very little communication and were not very attentive. Again, I understand places can get busy, people have bad days etc. But they were plenty staffed and it was not packed. We waited for our food until we had to leave because our lunch break was near ending. I had to approach the bar to get someone's attention to get our order to go. And 2 servers walked right by. I ended up bringing my food to work and eating it at my desk. Very sad that I did not get to enjoy my food while it was hot and not impressed with the service we received.Regardless, I did leave a tip because I try not to let others affect my day and upset me enough to mistreat anybody. I will not be returning to this location, although I'm sure the sandwich and fries would have been fire if I got to eat them warm.Lastly, I've been an Indigenous women long enough to notice when others are being served in an entirely different manner.
Food was okay, nothing special and pretty mediocre portions for the price. Has the atmosphere of a family restaurant despite the big 18+ only sign out front. We had a large group and the food came out really delayed - I finished my meal before my sister even got her basic eggs and hashbrowns plate.
This review is a bit overdue and not just based on one visit. I've been 3 times now with a friend, and it's become our breakfast place to go to when we want to have a nice visit and a decent breakfast. From the outside and the name, the Refinery Grill looks like it would be a more upscale steakhouse type of restaurant. But looks can be deceiving! It's more of a casual family diner type. The first time I I was there, I had the french toast grill which comes with 2 big pieces of french toast, eggs, hashbrowns and sausage for $14.95. Everything on the plate was delicious! The hashbrowns are real potatoes topped with dill. I do wish they were a bit crispier, but I'm sure I could ask for that the next time I go. My 2nd visit, I tried the blueberry pancakes and sausage for $16.25. First off, the pancakes were HUGE! The biggest pancakes I've had in the city so far. When they first brought out the pancakes, they looked great, but they hadn't been cooked through properly. The server took them back and brought out fresh ones cooked perfectly! They had fresh blueberries in them, and not just a few, they were loaded with blueberries! Would definitely have them again! On my last visit there, I tried the Traditional Benny, but switched out the ham for crispy bacon. Again, it was a huge portion and didn't disappoint! The hollandaise sauce wasn't the best I've had, but it was still tasty. The service is always amazing! Super friendly staff, clean restaurant and it's nice to be at a place where they don't rush you out. We'll definitely be back!
Exterior was very compelling. Definitely a "lunch place" feel inside. Very friendly and relaxed staff. Having eaten here twice, both meals for my partner and I were tasty, large portions, and cooked properly.
Used to come here frequently for dinner with the family but find out today that it is now an adults only. Used to love coming here knowing it was a family run business and was happy to support local businesses. You have lost our business.
Excellent experience here! The food was great - we had a roast beef dip and smoked meat sandwich; both were awesome. The fries are homemade cut potatoes and yummy!Service was attentive and friendly- I didn't catch her name but she had long blonde hair. So nice and efficient.Prices are great and portions are generous. The pic is of my leftovers. This restaurant is a great place for well priced, delicious food!
Very good. I had the ruben sandwich and my son had the cold turkey sandwich. We both were very happy with our choices. Everything tasted homemade including my gravy. We will definitely come back.
I ordered their Smoked Meat Deluxe Sandwich today and holy heck! This is hands down the best smoked meat sandwich I’ve ever had. There was so much juicy, flavourful meat. I’ve never had a better ‘stacked’ sandwich than this! I even thought the bread was really good. The Greek salad was crisp and delightful but obviously it doesn’t compare to that ridiculously good sandwich! I’ve got to go back and try their other menu items like the ribs!
