The restaurant oozes Greek culture. As soon as you walk in; from the music, the decor, and the staff present. Staff is incredibly kind and helpful, and you have this feeling as if you're invited into someone's Greek home for dinner. The menu has a minimum charge disclaimer, which as a consumer was not appealing. My partner and I had thought about leaving, but I suggested we stay and we may be surprised. We initially wanted to split a platter, but the disclaimer was kind of a deteruent. We ordered the chicken souvlaki and the lamb souvlaki platter. It literally looked like a home cooked meal. The taste and the flavors were decent, but not great. For the price... I would have expected more (flavour, presentation, and detail)... The chicken was quite dry, the vegetable medley and rice weren't spectacular. It wanted more refinement and finesse, it was clear the lemon sauce served lacked depth and the roasted potatoes wanted a bit more love to crisp up those edges. Was it original? No. But it does hit the spot of a seemingly home cooked meal. There were several other menu items that looked appealing and perhaps some day I'll give it a try and the other dishes prove me otherwise.
Best family restaurant in Edmonton! Besides the food being amazing and home-cooked, the family running the restaurant steals the show. I’ve never felt such friendliness and loving service that truly makes you feel a home away from home. Come to Mythos to feel loved in a tiny little strip mall in Edmonton that takes you miles and miles away. ❤️
Booking of table was simple and easy. Welcome nice and inviting. Problem seems to arise when we ordered couple of appetizer dishes to share as the serving lady (owner's family) showed her disappointment that we apparently didn't order enough to "make their while" in a 35% "busy" establishment. We ate and left. Gave her 15% tip even though she wasn't present and didn't bother to thank us for patronage. Matter of fact dropped a bill with credit card machine and become scarced. The tip was my good luck charm for the future as I will not return there ever. Food wasn't special either.
We were celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary and dropped in to see if they had room for us last Friday evening, April 29, 2022.It was a great choice. The food was spectacular. We kept hearing the waitress say “We make everything from scratch!” Well It shows. The atmosphere was quiet allowing my wife and I to carry on a conversation. Towards the end of the evening the waitress/owner sat down and told us about their 40+ years in business (both Vancouver and Edmonton). We learned a bit about her family and Rod her husband/chef.She is very proud of her husband’s skill in the kitchen. “He is here at 5:00 am to start prepping for the evening”, she told us.From the people that were in the restaurant it looked like families enjoy gathering here. You won’t be disappointed dining here.
The best food in the city . The hosts are very friendly and very approachable. Portions are large and worth the price. 10/10, will come back again
Great experience. The food was absolutely delicious. You can't get anything like this in Edmonton. The chicken and the Lamb were very good.
If you are looking for the REAL deal, look no further, Rod is the boss of the Greek food in North America, those words don’t get toss around for nothing. He has over 45 years of experience!Maria takes care of the front and does a fantastic job with a smile on her face.Mythos is true gem in Edmonton and everyone should go.They treat you like family.Everything is amazing ?!!
All the meals the 4 of us ordered were the best Greek food we had in Edmonton. Would strongly recommend the restaurant to any and all that want a wonderful Greek meal.
Apparently 3 year olds aren't allowed in because of Covid. Very disappointing. Fortunately, there are plenty of other restaurants that allow it.
Absolutely love this place!! Family owned and operated, the food is made and served with love. Favourite Greek kitchen in Edmonton for sure!
