Dined in with my family for pho and ramen for the first time.Big portions and quite tasty compared to most places. Service was good as well. Idk if we just came on a good day but our waters were always filled and we were checked up on once in a while even though there was quite a bit of customers that night. There was only one male server who my Dad asked what kind of beer they had and the guy never came back. Not sure what happened there LOLOther than that, it was a great experience as the restaurant had nice interior and for the price, it's pretty good for the pho and ramen. Huge portions! My brothers always finish theirs but they struggled this time ?
We had a great time enjoying sushi at this restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly. As well they brought the food out quite quickly.
Nothing wrong with the food. The service is HORRIBLE! When the servers are hanging out at a booth in the restaurant and not acknowledging customers it shows a bad message. Server forgot electronically enter main course items during our meal which made it very inconvenient during the dinner with a group of people. It was not busy and there were no excuses for the lousy service. First sitting down, we waited 30 minutes just to get our drink orders in. Would advise, this place is a take out only.
My wife and I have been ordering from and eating at Maki Maki for seven years. In the last year the quality of our orders has substantially decreased. In our last three orders: We were sent the wrong broth with our pho, we then received sushi rolls that smelled like stale fish (previously never an issue), and just now I received my favourite 'Bun Bo Hue' without the usual "spicy lemon grass broth" instead it is a portion of Maki Maki's standard broth with an underwhelming two table spoons of extras thrown in at the last moment before sending it out. The broth is not spicy, there isn't a hint of lemon grass, and the flavor this soup used to pack is completely gone.Service has been fantastic in the past, and may be again, but we're looking for new sushi and pho shops.
Really good food at reasonable price. The customer service has always been friendly and helpful. We go there on a regular basis because we enjoy the sushi and the soup.
Great place for a mix of Japanese and Vietnamese dishes. I've been going here off and on for at least 10 years, never had a disappointing meal. Great Maki and very creative sushi rolls. I think they have the best tempera in town. They also have giant bowls of Phó.
Was craving some sushi and pho and generally opened late night as its by Whyte Ave. Ordered the pho dac biet along with dynamite roll. The roll was decent, I noticed the rice was a little overcooked as it seemed a little mushy but overall the tempura was very crispy. The pho was amazing though. $13-$14 one size only for a GIANT bowl of pho that I had to pack to go as it tasted really good and I couldn't finish. I can tell their broth has been simmering for a long time. Great place for Vietnamese and Japanese food all at once. Will order their bubbletea next time for less than $6!
Good food, great customer service and they renovate tables and facility so look nice
Absolutely gross. Lettuce in dragon roll, sweet taste in California roll. Dragon roll was huge...can't fit in mouth. Nothing tastes authentic. Guys....go to Toronto for sushi. Edmonton cuisine sucks so bad. They threw like 3 table spoons on roe on top of my dragon roll. Who does that?! Do not eat here unless you like Canadianized food. Oh....the seemed to be a sweet taste in dragon roll as well. Such a waste of my hard earned money.
Pretty disappointed in the food quality. I found the rice way too sweet, and it left me with quite the upset stomach. The service was fantastic though. Prices are average for sushi restaurants.
