It’s the best sushi place I’ve had in Edmonton. Sashimi is fresh , a bit pricey but the quality is really good. Although I do feel sorry for the server as it was quite busy, hopefully the owner would at least have 2 servers on the floor considering there’s deliveries as well. She was very sweet and efficient despite being slammed.
First time to try them out. I can say the service and first impressions were excellent but nothing more to rave about. A couple of our ordered items were incorrect or missing but I felt the sushi was over-bloated with rice, my dragon roll left no impression and made me think of every other place that did it better. The décor is boring, blank dark walls nothing to look at. I wish I could be satisfied with only the service of the staff.
Best Japanese food I’ve ever had! Service has always been amazing and food has always been delicious! I’ve spent many birthdays, end of school year celebrations, and catching up meals here and I will continue too.
Glad I got my sushi fix at Kobe today. I frequently ate here before pandemic times, but their hours were reduced and I haven't came back since 2020.They're back, and still offering the same quality sushi. I love their Sweet Temptation roll and Beef Tataki ? We weren't too thrilled about our Spicy Scallop roll. Overall, will continue to be back!
It's evident that Kobe is under new ownership (from when I dined here a few years ago). While the service is friendly and food is fast to arrive, the food is unfortunately, mediocre at best. The futomaki was a glorified California roll and I found many of the maki sushi we ordered here have an abundance of avocado that seems to us as a filler component; completely unneeded. The unagi don was passable but for the price, was not very generous in the eel and too light on sauce. The "aburi saba" they sell here as an appetizer is NOT aburi saba in any shape, taste, or form. This place is not for the sophisticated sushi lover. Not really recommended.
I really enjoy Kobe sushi! There are extremely few good quality sushi places in West Edmonton but this is a tried and tested great spot. I like almost every roll we have tried (probably eaten there 10 times and tried 90% of their rolls) and it’s always very fresh and presented nicely, even with takeout (which is what they were limited to for a long time during covid - may still be that way). The only thing I will say is you need to plan way ahead if you want to order from here, they are on skip the dishes during non-peak times but the wait is almost always over an hour around dinner time so order as soon as they open in the evenings unless you are okay with a late dinner!
Ordered takeout, not bad, will come back again. Give 4 star because we didn’t like everything we ordered and there wasn’t enough soy sauce and wasabi there for us
Called for pick up and told me over an hour wait, I said no problem I'll call to order another day. Called me back right after and they'd cut the wait time in half, show up for the promised time and still have to wait the original time.
My husband and I love Kobe Sushi. The sushi is great quality and the staff are very friendly. I only give them 4 stars and their actual restaurant could use a bit of a makeover. It doesn't feel like a place I'd want to go on a romantic night out, especially when their sushi is not inexpensive.
Great food. Great service. The passion of the chefs makes it all the better. I truly live eating here as the cuisine offered is so different from the usual Japanese food offered.10/10 would HIGHLY recommend!
