Polite service, our main was out before we finished our bisque, and the new look is clean and bright.Food - My wife and I shared the lobster bisque and agreed it was good. She had the Joey's fish. the batter was light and crisp, for pollock it was banger! The fish sandwich was huge! The chipotle mayo and lime slaw complimented the generous pile of batter fish pieces.I don't love spring mix greens so I could do without that but I'm not complaining.Price was reasonable and the portions were generous. Would definitely recommend to someone craving fish n chips on the west end!!
We arrived right at 11 when it opened. The place was quiet. My husband and I sat down and was served right away. We both got all you can eat fish and chips. When it arrived everything was over cooked and the fish was so tiny like a fish stick. It was so over cooked that the meat was gone inside. I asked about why the fish was so tiny. Apparently the size varies from distributor. But we have been here in the past and it has never been that tiny. We ordered 4 more fish sticks. And they were cooked better but the damage was done and we were grossed out. Never again we said. And that is unfortunate because it was our go to fish place .
We stopped in for lunch today. This location has transformed and the renovations are fantastic. It appears bigger but it is the same square footage as before. The service is definitely upgraded. The two gentlemen who served us today made sure we felt welcome. It was great to see the bar taps letting us know right away there was draft and it was perfectly cold. I had a dark ale and my guy had the usual. The fish was perfectly battered. I had the combination fish and two kinds of shrimp. I am now a fan of coconut shrimp. It was too much so now I have tomorrow’s lunch. We couldn’t resist the deconstructed carrot cake that came in a cute jar. Delicious! I didn’t take pics because we left our phones in the car. The place was pretty busy and while we were there we did not see plates going back into the kitchen which is an indication everyone was as happy as we were. Joey’s always had good food IMO but the inside felt a little too fast food. Not now, Joey has grown up and it feels adult. This place will be on our usual list. They are opening their patio and I can’t wait for that. You should eat here, but take pics. Thank you for the fantastic meal Joey’s Terra Losa ❤️
This was a great place to have a bite to eat, excellent ? food, great service . We would nd will definitely be back.. ?
First time at the reborn Joey's. I choose the Triple which consisted of a combination cod, haddock, and halibut. The fish was cooked well and the batter was light. Good job. I was disappointed with the chips. They looked and tasted like the ones found in the super market frozen food section, not home style chips that I associate with prior Joey's experiences or other fish and chip restaurants. As a fish and chip afficionado, the chips are as important as the fish. Service was alright. The one complaint I had with the old Joey's was it was in need of refurbishment, furthermore it was dark. I'm pleased to see the new iteration bright and modernized.
Great service. Fair prices. They have 2 for 1 2 piece fish and chips with beverage. Price was $22 for 2 people with drinks. Quality was good. Fish was crispy and fries tasty. Tartar sauce much better than the standard little packets. Waitress really friendly and helpful. All you can eat Tues for 16.99 is a good deal too.
Was good! The server was very pleasant and attentive. The portions were definitely smaller than when I last visited. My fries were done all right, could have been left in another 2 minutes(my preference). My wife oredered the truffle poutine fries, her fries could have used 3-4 more minutes...tasted great but the gravy might have had flavour enhancements like msg or celery extract...same thing different name.I know businesses need to tighten up to survive...but french fries are cheap...would have looked a lot bigger if the the 3 skinny pieces of fish were on a big bed of (fully cooked) french fries.
It's been a few years since we were at Joey's fish shack . I'm glad we made it back . The staff and service was excellent and fast. They are so friendly and welcoming as well. The fish was delicious and hot . The French fries done perfectly too. We are going to be back soon. You certainly don't leave hungry. They also made fresh coffee for us too . Thank you again. This was at the Terra losa location west end .
