The food was delicious. I love Chinese cuisine.
The servers were not friendly and the service were soooo slow . We ordered 3 meals (tofu with chinese mushrom, beef with brocoli, mushroom and baby corn, garlic prawns) and a rice. The garlic prawns were a disappointment. It's more like brocoli with a side of prawns. The brocoli is toooo many with few prawns. When we called their attention about this, they were not even friendly to answer why the meal is like that. I asked why there's so many brocoli when it wasn't mentioned in the menu that it has brocoli.Also, when we asked for water and tea at the end of our meal, the server were not courteous and keep answering back.I will not recommend this restaurant and will not definitely come back.
The service and quality of the food has severely dropped in the last couple of years. This used to be my favourite place to go now i will not waste my time or money again. Was ignored by both servers and the manager due to my ethnicity- at least that is the way it seemed as they took my order, dropped off my 3 plates at service rate times and then I had to do a grand gesture to get someone back over to pack up leftovers and get the bill, which by the way is not in English. The food was second rate - ginger beef not crispy and since when does zucchini get added to the shrimp, cashew and vegetable dish? Worst $53 I have spent on a lunch since I can remember.
We came here for years. Staff was friendly and food was excellent.. Totally opposite yesterday. Waitress was not friendly, kept running to table beside us and would take off no matter how hard we tried to get her attention. Ginger beef was not nearly as good as it has been in the past, and I’ve tried many places. This used to be the best in my opinion. I would drive across the city for it. The rest of the food was not worth mentioning, very disappointed. Let’s see if they reach out to me.
This is the best value Chinese restaurant in south Edmonton. Portion is very satisfied. Lots of meat if you order the meat dishes. Taste is also above average. My favourite if I don’t have special interest on different food.
Have never been to Good Buddy before; so my daughter and I wanted to try it. Went in, sat down, lady gives us 2 menus and a pot of tea… I guess. I don’t drink tea. When she comes back to get our order; my daughter asks her what the tea is. The lady replies… it’s jasmine tea; good for you; gets did of fat. She looks at me and tells me to drink it as I am fat. She tells my daughter to tell me to drink the tea and I won’t be fat. She says she drinks this tea all the time; then says to us… look at me; I no fat!! I’ve never been so insulted ever.!! And I’m hardly fat!! What horrible people. In todays world? We simply got up and left. Never go there people! We will never go again. Everyone we know is now aware. I have friends that swear by their place… but not any more. Hope they go out of business. Horrible horrible person and establishment!!
I haven't been here since the beginning of the pandemic as Good Buddy switched to a take out only model for quite some time. It was nice to see many of the staff have returned!As for the food, this used to be one of my go to place for Chinese (Cantonese) food in Edmonton. While some of the dishes we ordered were excellent (Garlic Soy Crispy Skin Chicken & Sweet and Sour Pork), I did notice that some of our favourites (Spicy Salted Squid & Deep Fried Fish Filet with Corn) were just a little less flavourful than they previously were.Might have been just a blip, though and I will return regardless!
Ordered for pick up. My dad went it, and said for pick up. They asked for an order number, which he didn’t have because they didn’t give him one. He said he ordered with his phone number. They rudely told him to wait on the side. He waited another 10 minutes on top of the 30 minutes. Ended up leaving, and ordering from Chan Can Wok. 100% better service, and only a 10 minute wait!!

I CANT EVEN GIVE IT A 1 IN THE RATING. I had such a craving for chinese food, and they were close, and had good ratings. The delivery was quick, maybe if they spent more time properly preparing food, it would have been better. I spent 100 dollars and it was the worst 100 dollars I spent. The food was absolutely disgusting, it was dry, and had no flavor. 100 dollars thrown in the garbage, me and my guests ended up just getting pizza, thanks for ruining my night , they made me rate it in the reveiw, had to choose 1, if I had a choice it would be 0
