I tried the sour cherry pie today and it was amazing! Perfect tartness, flaky crust, just thinking about it now hours later my mouth is watering. Last time I had pie this good was 5 years ago at a bakery on Vancouver Island.
Great preorder service to skip the long line. Packaging is nice for gifting. Recommend the duke cake for chocolate lovers and all the seasonal items.
I am from out of town and needed a pick me up. I had heard about the Duchess Bake Shop so I headed on over to check it out. So happy I did as I was not disappointed. One syllable....mmmmmm. I bought 2 butter tarts and a raspberry & white chocolate scone.
Nice pastry but kind of large for one person especially the lemon tart. It's much more spacious than before the expansion. The Americano is super. We waited for a while until somebody bother to take our order and it was not so busy. It's worth it because I brought a guest with me.New visit today and all is good and the seating are much better. The expansion is a very good idea.
The place to me is the perfect, "I wanna buy desserts to visit/gift people - I actually like". Their stuff is cutely designed and packaged. Also the taste is always imo balanced..not too cloyingly sweet and heavy. However I will say, I would never treat myself to their stuff, it's a little too expensive taste experience wise. I can achieve the same happiness from other much much cheaper sources lol.The staff is pretty nice everytime I go there, but I always buy to go, I don't super like the "dine in" setup.
I have bought treats from here a couple times. Last week i picked up a individual cake and a chocolate croissant. The cake was nice but it was $7?Which is fine, its a treat and you will only eat it once vs buying a whole cake. However the chocolate croissant was a complete disappointment.I'm sorry but at $5 for a single chocolate croissant that had no real chocolate in it, its unacceptable. You sell a premium product and I paid a premium price, I expect better.
This is a lemon raspberry pie from this bakeshop! It's so good. Not overly sweet and the crust is perfect. Loved it!
Famous bake shop in Edmonton. People come from out of town for their goodies ! Go early or place orders as they run out quickly especially during the holiday season. My only gripe is parking is a bit hard to find in the area.
It was first time visiting this place. We got chocolate cake, chocolate orange scones, macaroons, cherry pie, and some cookies. Everything was great and probably the best bakery in Edmonton area.
AMAZING! Ordered the Duke Cake online, was in touch via email the entire time and kept in the loop with the entire process from start to finish. I was sent a picture of the cake before delivery. Delivery was on time and the cake wasn't damaged. Wife loved the cake, tastes amazing and looks WOW. Will order from here again and again. Money well spent and such a smooth transaction. DUCHESS YOU GUYS MADE MY WIFE'S BDAY A SUCCESS. THANK YOU.
