Came for pasta Monday. The food was excellent as usual. Apparently it was our server (Alisha)'s 2nd day. Never would have known, she was thoroughly delightful and professional. Service was prompt and we were very happy with our experience.
We ordered three meals through Uber Eats. Two meals were missing a side. One meal, a large order of Gorgonzola ravioli, consisted of 14 average sized ravioli, for $18.00. I spoke with the restaurant manager who told me that I could get the side orders at a later date, or get a refund through Uber eats. I was also told that 14 raviolis are average for this portion, because it includes the sauce. Obtaining the sides at a later date was not acceptable, as we ordered enough food for the number of people we needed to feed at the time of the food’s arrival. When I explained this, he asked, “ what would you like me to do?” His solution was to have two sides ready for the next Uber driver to pick up and deliver, whenever another Uber order would be placed by someone else. This didn’t work for us, as we were on a timeline. His only solution was for us to request a refund through Uber Eats. We have ordered from Chianti regularly over the past four years. We’ve also dined in person, regularly, over the past ten years. Unfortunately, this lacklustre experience will be our last with this establishment.
Delicious experience! I am not a big pasta fan at all and I thoroughly enjoyed this place. From the zucchini appies to the dessert, each course was well made and seasoned to my liking. And the customer service was excellent, a big thank you to our waitress Emily for being a boss and making the occasion that much more special!
Grew up eating here- came for a visit to the city after many years away and decided to return for my favourite- tortellini alla panna. Sadly it was terrible- pasta was overcooked and the dish was tasteless. My son ordered the fettuccine alfredo- which was worse! Tasted like dish water and the noodles were soggy. Worst Italian food I have ever eaten. Restaurant looks run down and not super clean. We had been raving about the food there in the past. What a disappointment.
I’ve eaten here a few times now, I absolutely love it! It feels like home, not just because it’s a really warm positive environment. It’s the personality, the service, the food, the smiles and personal connection the staff makes with every customer. They go out of their way to make sure every corner of your experience is top notch. I can’t say enough good things about Chianti. I would give them more stars if I could. Thanks so much Andy and staff for the incredible experience! I’ll be paying rent soon if I’m there any more than I already am lol. Cheers! ??
You can tell the food is fresh. Not salty. Waiter was cool. Campesino was a family favourite.
This place was meh. I was mostly disappointed by the service. I called to make a reservation as we were a party of 6. I was told to just show up even though it was a Saturday night. Of course we arrive and they ask if we have a reso… we were put on a waitlist. The manager really didn’t care, the hostess however although clearly in the juice was at least able to inform me that the restaurant was under staffed. Eventually we got seated. The food is best described as mediocre Italian food. I enjoyed the side salad the most. The presentation was neglected and the taste was bland. The portions were generous as they often are when quality is lacking. Who knows maybe it was simply as off night.
Chainti has Monday and Tuesday deal, so we went there with our friends for the first time, staffs were very polite, restaurant atmosphere was very nice and it had an Italian theme. We ordered zucchini for starter, which had a new taste for me but delicious, and for main food we ordered Ravioli Bolognes, Fusilli Giardin and Lasagnia Al Forno, we all enjoy our orders, after they bring our food a waitress ask us if we want extra salt and pepper and cheese,At the end we ordered Tiramisu for dessert, and it taste was so goodI had a really good experience about Chianti, and definitely will go there again.
Jeff is the best I have ever had coming across in my life. His service was amazing. He goes above and beyond to explain the menu not only myself, but each individual customers. He does his best to make happy all of the customers needs have been met prior to leaving the restaurant. It is my belief that he should be training the new hires and helping to teach how customers not only expect to be treated, but simply how to go above and beyond for each individual everytime and easily have them walking out of the restaurant with a genuine smile on their face. There is good employees and there are great employees. Jeff definitely is one of the great employees. I think it would be a huge loss to the restaurant if they chose to not give him the praise he deserves and pay he deserves. I think that this restaurant can capitalize on his customer service skills. Not to mention all the happy customers this would create!! This man is a hard worker and has great customer service, it would be a shame if the restaurant chose not to do anything to keep him happy and use his skills to their advantage while they have the opportunity to do so. Jeff, you are an amazing employee and I think you have a very bright future ahead of you. Truly. Keep up the good work :)
This staple of Edmonton is a wonderful place to find well-priced Italian food. There's plenty of options, so you're bound to find something you like.
