Beef brisket is fantastic. My favorite dish is the brisket and rice roll, a close second is the jumbo shrimp noodle soup. The service is always friendly and efficient. Great value for your money too. The dishes are huge!

Generous portions for a fair price and friendly service

The BEST Ginger Beef you'll ever eat! And everything else we had was incredible too. Everything was so fresh and flavourful with generous portions. The service was excellent and we were welcomed so kindly. You really have to eat here! Free parking behind the restaurant is magic being downtown. Go now!

We went to the Blue Orchid for a birthday celebration. The restaurant is located in a pretty area, the restaurant decor is traditional Chinese. The servers were all very friendly and polite. The food was exceptional. And portions were huge. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go back, and recommend it to everyone.

Attended the Purple Orchid for first time as a guest for a larger group of eleven. Alex and his staff provide excellent table service and even laughed at my Corny Dad Jokes. The various traditional Chinese food courses were flavourful, large quantity and well timed. We had a memorable evening with a Lot of Laughter. My wife and I will be back to try some of the other dishes.

Invited to join a larger group for dinner at the Blue Orchid recently. Besides laughing at my corny Dad Jokes, Alex and his associates proved great table service, plentiful and quality Chinese food dishes including an excellent Grouper- fish entree. Very enjoyable evening; I plan on introducing my family to this location in the near future.

Hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had! The deep fried pork chop (pictured) and yum yum shrimp are absolute MUST HAVES. They always come out ultra flavourful, CRISPY AND JUICY! Our server Alex was super friendly and knowledgeable and even gave our mom a mother's day balloon. What a nice touch! Will definitely be coming back. ??

Visited Blue Orchid for Mother’s Day. The restaurant was busy with plenty of diners and to-go orders. Despite this, the service was fast and the food came out quickly. The food was excellent— our table of 5 shared the XO fried rice, peach shrimp, platters of huge tiger prawns, muscles, and grouper, the beef tenderloin stir fry in black bean sauce, and crispy roasted chicken. The servings were generous and the flavours were fresh. Each of us had a different favourite dish on the table and walked away stuffed and pleased. Thanks for the great experience.

We were optimistic and had high hopes after reading some of the more positive reviews.Unfortunately to our disappointment, there were several aspects that made our experience an unpleasant one… the following points are the reason for this low review:1. Upon entering, I observed the restaurant and be relatively clean and visually pleasant, a traditional Chinese decor which appeared genuine and not overdone. However, when seated I observed one of our soup bowls to have hair inside the bowl and a brown crusty smudge on the lip of the bowl - yuck!2. The food… the most positive aspect about the food was the short time it took to bring to our table. Despite that we were only the second table in the whole restaurant the speed of the food was suspiciously fast..- Chicken balls: were extremely doughy and theoutside was hard and tough to bite or cut through. It felt as though there was no chicken in them at all. It tasted like a doughy paste, frankly just disgusting.- Ginger beef: was not awful, but very doughy and clearly had only trace amounts of beef. Anyone who is used to better quality will be quickly put off from finishing this dish.- Chicken fried rice: was probably the best part of the meal but carried a frugal sentiment as there was barely any chicken or egg to be found inside. I’m sure things have been tough economically with the COVID shutdowns but to sacrifice dish quality for a 50 cent egg is not an ideal business model.3. Service was sub-par. The servers were not personable and made it very apparent that they did not want to be there. Having worked in the service industry, I was thoroughly disappointed. I felt like I was being ushered through a drive through and not sitting down to eat in a restaurant.I hope this review helps others navigate their next meal and might provide some constructive feedback for the owners.- Ivan

This place is great! You get great value for your dollar and the quality is great! Very tasty good. I will routinely order a "dinner for two" for myself, and get 3 meals out of it. Not my proudest statement, but a testament to the quantity and quality of food you receive.
