My wife and I have been searching for the best poke in Edmonton and I think we found it. We had the spicy tuna poke in the California style. I had the loco Moco. I have been craving a local Moco ever since I left Hawaii and I think I found the place to satisfy my craving. I will definitely be back next time.
Custom made spicy sauce was perfect! Amazing food and amazing people
So happy to finally make my way here. It's been 3 years since we've been to Hawaii and had a serious craving for poke and other poke shops in Edmonton just didn't cut it. It's almost criminal how bad the poke scene is in Edmonton but thankfully Aloha is here to save us from accepting mediocre poke.Service here was great, staff are friendly and you can tell they have a passion for their food. Our guy helped us patiently while we curated our meal as we wanted it to take us back to Hawaii. My poke bowl was delicious, with generous servings of rice and tuna. This is the best I've eaten in Edmonton. Several variations are available in tuna and salmon and it was the toughest decision I've had to make. It must have felt like a lifetime for the poor guy waiting to take my order and the anxiety started to kick in and I blindly ordered a random flavour to which I completely forgot what it was. I kid you not, it was tougher than showing up for my first prostate examination. Whatever the flavour was, it was like being back in Waikiki and all was right in the world. My wife ordered the Loco Moco and it was a glorious mess of rice, ground beef patties, fried eggs, gravy and a side of Hawaiian mac salad. It reminded me of a Hawaiian style salisbury steak on crack. This was a huge entree and we couldn't possibly finish it and had to take the leftovers home.Surprising star of the meal was the humble musubi. We decided to try the upgraded version and ordered it deep-fried. Wrapped in nori, coated in panko, deep-fried then drizzled in a spicy mayo, it was like taking an umami filled nuke packet straight into the carotid artery. The crunchy exterior mixed with the chewy rice and tender spam, it was a journey of textures. This was probably the most amazing thing we've eaten in recent memory and if Aloha ever stops serving these, there will be riots.I would highly recommend trying Aloha out. The poke and musubi alone are worth the trip ??
Dined in twice, had takeout once -- all in our first week of discovering Aloha. Highly recommend the loco moco, chicken katsu, and kimchi fried rice. Staff are super friendly. Will keep recommending friends visit. :)Skip delivery fee is high (maybe this is just because of where I live?) -- food is worth the dine-in visit.
We had the Hawaiian style poke bowl with spicy mayo salmon and the mainland style with tuna poke, sushi ginger, wonton chips and crab add on. Both were excellent - very generous portions of poke and excellent flavors! Definitely will be back!
So so so so so so good. Changed my mind about buying poke bowls. Decently filling with their two scoops of rice. I would add toppings just to boost the flavour! Adding masago is always a must ? they also let you try out the flavours beforehand if you want to taste it first! We had the California poke with masago + 2 toppings and a classic creamy poke.
Best poke outside of Hawaii. Portions are not too large, just right. So fresh and tasty. Will definitely be back.
Came in to try their poke, but also ended up getting the loco moco as well. Both were very good. I got their mainland style poke with the spicy mayo tuna, wonton crisp, and seaweed salad. The portions were good, I asked for one scoop of rice, but it usually comes with 2.The loco moco was probably the highlight for me, there was the right amount of gravy, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the flavours were great. The staff are all very friendly as well. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some Hawaiian food.
My wife found this gem after a light hike and needed something refreshing. Boy am I glad we stumbled upon it! The guys are super nice, the food is just amazing, and our daughter wouldn't stop eating! Would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be coming back!
I ordered the Halua Pork....mmmm delicious. If I could suggest anything, I wish they gave you a bigger portion of the macaroni side.
