In the past few years, the Korean Fried Chicken scene has exploded in Calgary. But, no matter what, we always head back to our favourite: Yum Yum BBQ in Pacific Place.1. Price is amazing! For under $14, you get a 3 piece meal (your choice of flavour), crinkle cut fries and a pop.2. Portion size is consistent. Nice big juicy pieces of double-fried chicken. Some places offer 5 piece meals but we like these whole pieces more.3. Taste is incomparable. I like the spicy chicken (no sauce - dry spice) because it’s got just the right amount of kick. Sometimes it’s spicier (yay) than other times, but it’s always good. Husband usually gets the shallot chicken, which has a nice savoury and sweet sauce and shallots on top. This time he got the signature Yum Yum sauce chicken and still thought it was good. Their chicken isn’t as saucy as other places (which we like)! If you like crinkle cut fries like I do, then these are perfect! They also have twist potatoes (spiral-cut potato on a stick) which is also fun to eat!We tried the beef bulgogi ttoek-bokki (rice noodles) this time and found it tasty, but still love the chicken more. Lots of people around us for other dishes and chicken, but the 3 piece meal is filling enough! We’ve tried the other locations, but honestly, this one is the best!

Though an alternative to the more traditional chicken outlets around the city, Yum Yum BBQ offers other Korean dishes, such as Pork Mayo Cupbob, Beef Bulgogi, Tuckbokgi, Gang Jeong etc.We tried the Fried chicken, after waiting 30 minutes, we were a bit disappointed with the size and flavor of the chicken. We paid for the upsize, (bigger pieces?) But our chicken was in fact smaller than that of Kfcs or their neighbor, Jollibee in comparison. It was a decent meal over all but prob won't be back.

This place is just fantastic, its a bit expensive but its so worth it. Please, if you like fried chicken you must try this place out! You won't regret it at all. I get the YUM YUM CHICKEN and Shallot chicken. Plus the chicken stays crispy; even the sauced chicken. Just a lovely place for fried chicken.I'm only talking about the location at 36 st.

its a very aesthetic little place, really jice atmosphere! portions are huge, everything is decently priced for how much food you get! we went as a group of 4 and split everything but could barely finish it all! check it out for yourself!

This is my favourite Korean Fried chicken place in Calgary. They combo meals are always the perfect amount of food for my group of 4-5 friends who always pick Yum Yum for get togethers over Korean fried chicken. Their shallot chicken is juicy and flavourful with a delightful amount of crunch, and their wavy cut fries on the side are crunchy and lightly seasoned. I love ordering take out here too. Their location is conveniently close to T&T supermarket, Canadian Tire, and they're right beside a Coco's so you can run some quick errands or grab a bubble tea before returning to pick up your order.

I was in the area and was looking for some lunch, and I passed by this place, loved the atmosphere so I had to go in. The person that took the order and offered suggestions was Kim, and she was very informative and great to talk to. Food was prepared on the spot and they had some good Korean music too. Extremely fresh and helped warm me up during the cold weather. Kim came by to check up on me and asked if everything was sorted, I greatly appreciated that. This is a great spot to grab some good food, and go out with some friends or your loved ones! 5/5

This place is usually my go to when I wanna order out. The food is great and the staff are awesome. Any time I go here the staff remember me by name and know my order as I usually order the same every-time I go. I recommend the BBQ plate as it is my go to order, but all the menus items are great.

Don’t you just love it when you get served your food and they give you a warning: “careful, it’s very hot”… and boy it is! I go there to give myself a treat and it’s my usual 3 piece spicy chicken, side of gravy, rice and a can of pop.

This was my first time here, and I wanted to try the spicy chicken and fries to compare it to Jollibee. It is a very cute and clean little restaurant, not very busy as it was an hour before close on Sunday night. We ordered the chicken to go, and it was about 15 minutes from ordering until the food was ready. There were also chairs available to wait. The chicken was super fresh, crunchy, juicy and very delicious! There was a very unique seasoning in the breading which I still can't place. The spiciness took awhile to kick in, but was definitely there! The fries were plain, but I love the fact that they were crinkle cut, which is hard to find. The gravy was very small, but was well seasoned and had more depth to it than I expected. My only critique is that there was a mystery dark meat piece that was very fatty, and the breast pieces are quite small breaded chunks, though they are very meaty. As compared to Jollibee spicy chicken - Yum Yum takes the prize in my opinion! I also love that they have white meat chicken, which Jollibee does not.

Amazing service with super affordable prices for authentic Korean fried chicken. The space was super clean with little wait time. I would definitely come here again with friends!
