Awesome place if you want to try unique flavor tacos! I was surprised by how delicious they were - as a meat lover I was amazed. We tried all 6 options, but wanna say the "not fish" one with palm heart were the best!Coconut Pineapple lavender colada is something you should try there as well.Definitely gonna stop by next time I'm in Inglewood.
Man this place is a hidden gem. I’m not a vegan and never thought much of the idea. But! Their “No Fish, Fish taco” might be one of the best tacos I’ve ever consumed (and I come from a Mexican household). I’m not sure how to explain this, but it completely turned the idea of vegan food around to me.I came back a second time with family just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke and I’m happy to report these no fish fish tacos are bomb…I’ve tired all of the other tacos they offer and can say they’re good too, not great. But, this is hardly fair when you’re comparing with the no fish, fish taco. It’s like Jonny Depp crashing your kids middle school play, of course he’s better hahaha.Anyhow,The co/ owner Darien (sp?) and his wife have created an incredible atmosphere with cute and friendly staff. Everyone was welcoming and fun to be around.Portion sizes are generous which is incredibly refreshing from all the other local taco joints around Calgary who think people don’t know they charge extra for air.Tacos are $7 a piece and I think the pricing is fair for what you’re served. I didn’t feel like they were trying to pinch pennies and were simply focused on making great food!If there is a down side it was finding a decent place to park. That said, the walk was worth it.Do yourself a favor and try the no fish fish tacos. And get there early, seats fill up fastNote to owners,If you guys could please bring back the paper menus it would be appreciated. I found the current set up to be confusing and clunky. And for a second time ordered off the wrong menu since it was the top option to choose. ✌️
My friend and went here and got the three salsa and chips to share (8/10) pretty good chips however some were a little soft rather than crunchy. We also got a virgin charred pineapple marg and cilantro cucumber mojito (10/10) probably the most refreshing drink I’ve had for a while. We also ordered 3 tacosKorean chickin 10/10Bang bang cauliflower 5/10No fish 5/10Korean chickin was spicy and packed a lot of flavour however the other two were underwhelming with minimal flavour and way too much cabbage slaw (a drizzle of a sauce would have definitely helped)Would come back for the chips and salsa and instead just order 2 Korean tacos
Amazing food! This will be a must for me anytime I’m in Calgary in the future.
Exquisite vegan dining. It's not cheap though so bring your unmaxed credit card.Excellent food, peaceful and beautifully done decor. Friendly staff, great patio. Then go for a post meal stroll down Inglewood.Loved it looking forward to going back.
Really great food that has amazing taste. The collection of salts and sauces used on the food are excellent. Really enjoyed our meal, tacos are well worth it. Would recommend to anyone.
So... I've been coming here now for a bit now.Hi, new vegan here, not new-new, but like 1.5 years newish; and I think it's safe to say I have some thoughts given my experiences here with the complete menu and a good number of new and veteran staff.I think my first comment would be that the staff here gets top marks. They're friendly, they are as attentive as they can be given how busy it can get, and they definitely seem to have a solid work ethic. They get high fives all around, and that goes for the few kitchen staff I've seen going at it in the back as well.Next, let's talk atmosphere. The spacing is comfortable, the lighting is quaint in a charming way, the music is varied and never too loud depending on the number of people being served, the decor is homey with a splash of local artwork adding to the vibe, the copper bar comfortably seats 6 but could easily squeeze up to 8 or 9, and the patio is a total mood when available. The unisex washrooms pass the decency test in my opinion and I hope they always keep the handsoap they have (it smells so good and I promise I don't have a problem). Oh, and as a cyclist, they have a bike rack out front by their green wall which is much appreciated and can hold a solid half dozen riders. Bonus points for being wheelchair accessible. If you can, for duos, try getting a seat with the cute hanging hammock seats if available. In short, cozy indoors with a communal outdoor feel. Now for the food. Bruh, it slaps. There's for sure something for everyone and it's definitely a spot I could say changes perceptions on vegan cuisine for doubters. It's genuinely good stuff. My favourite dishes per menu category that I could comfortably recommend are: the BANG BANG CAULIFLOWER TACO (with the CHIMICHURRI BEAF as my close second), the JALAPENO CHEEZE DIP APPETIZER (but shout out to the CHICKPEA TOSTADAS), the burritos are good but I have to give props to the PESTO CHIKIN QUESADILLA, and the HARVEST PICKLED SALAD is so dope with no additions needed. The desserts are a toss up because it's the two and I'd say it's a preference thing based on what you had, but they're both worth trying so save room if you can and have the time. Special mention to Lisa's TORTILLA SOUP, it's solid comfort food regardless of the weather or your mood and I hope it becomes a mainstay on the menu. I don't think anything here is under a 7.5 out of 10 depending on your taste.Drink choices are great too, but I feel like I can't comment on those only because it can be such a personal choice, but they have some stars that stand out, for sure.*Full disclaimer: This isn't a favor or paid for, or anything like that, I purchased everything and had great food and service virtually every time. I say that to the point where I'm just going to thank the staff for keeping me fed, welcomed, and appreciative of not giving me any buyer's remorse. Pat yourselves on the back, you've all found yourselves a regular patron. To everyone at Vegan Street Taco Bar, keep on keeping it 100 and don't change unless it's for the better. With all the stars and a part of my heart, this place is definitely a local gem.
So so good!! Loved every bite! Cranberry margarita- nummy
Very happy with this place and will be back. Staff great good food, nice vibe. Meets the expectations for a Vegan place, fun decor, trendy music and I non cookie cutter staff. The drinks are a must try. I would be back for sure for a cocktail and a taco.
A really great alternative to your usual meat taco restaurants. With a friend, we shared six of their tacos to really try all the flavors: chimichurri beef, bang bang cauliflower, holiday turkey, no fish, Korean fried chicken, and butter chicken. Using alternatives such as soy, palm, mushrooms, and jackfruit, this taco bar allows you to experience a whole new world of flavors. The Korean fried Chicken and holiday turkey (featuring an amazing roasted sage, thyme, and garlic aioli) were our absolute favorites. While the meals were very filling and unique, I had to take off one star because most of the tacos were slightly cold when we bit into them which was a little disappointing. Still, I would come back for a second try!
