Rockfort is one of the best south Indian restaurant in Calgary... The taste is authentic south Indian taste... We ordered variety of dosa, idli, vada and chilly paneer.. there CHILLY PANEER (best Indochinese) is the best in Calgary... Spicy & perfectly cooked.... we also ordered extra spicy rockfort masala dosa- the chef did full justice to the taste.... And at the end, there filter coffee is like icing on cake.. can't skip it..Looking forward to try there other dishes . Too ???????...
Drove out here on the recommendation of a friend. The food and service was great and worth the drive. I think the owner or main chef was helping with service that night and he was very warm and welcoming. The food came out in a timely manner and we really enjoyed it. Dinging a star for ambience. It is very hard to find the place from the outside because of the lack of any recognizable branding except for a really faded sign. The inside decor and ambience is also quite lazy. For the amount of business the place gets, it would be nice to go for a unique look that celebrates South Indian culture. Some wall art and decor would be nice and seats and tables could be better.
Was hoping to experience authentic taste, but disappointed. The chettinadu chicken was made with boneless chicken cubes (it’s a huge redflag when looking for authentic Indian food), and were not slowly cooked - authentic ones usually have bones, and are slowly cooked- that makes a huge difference in taste.Chicken 65 fry was Ok, nothing extraordinary. South indian parotas are great.
Accidentally found a wonderful restaurant! We got late to go for dinner and were looking restaurants open in the area.Found out one at 9:30 pm they were closing in 30 mins. Yet they got us a table and the food was real good.So while having dinner nobody rushed us to finish our meal.Kudos to team for having exemplary customer service skills and chef for cooking us a great meal.Thank you.
When we first went, it was just my family, and the staff took excellent care of us. The food was also excellent. We invited our family friends to join us for the second time. The restaurant was packed this time, but owing to our reservation, we were able to get a table. After a 30-minute wait for water, we requested lunch, which arrived after 50 minutes and was of poor quality. I guess the staff wasn't prepared to deal with such a large throng. We recommend visiting this eatery throughout the week. Weekends are awoid if you want to eat well
Being a South Indian, I can say with conviction that this is the most authentic South Indian food I’ve had the pleasure to have in Calgary. The spice levels were just spot on ( not mild as this part of south india love their spicy food) 100% recommended. Must visit!!

Really nice and friendly staff and well maintained interiorWe had tried their chicken lollipop, chilly chicken, fried rice and butter chicken.. food is always tasty..really great restaurant for east Indian food..Food always surprise me, the flavours and the spices are always top notch.
