I had to edit my previous review.Previously I said it was 4 star and would come back again. Now I'm not so sure. After a good experience the first time I told friends and family about tacos mexico and a group of us decided to go for a meal. The waiter took our group order but seemed distracted while doing so.We ordered entrees for 8 people along with two startersAfter about 40 minutes the first entrees started trickling out to our table. Wanting to eat as a group the people who received their meal waited for everybody to get their entree. Still no starters in sight. After about 10 more minutes and only 3 entrees we decided to eat our meal as it was getting cold. A few more entrees came out shortly after. We asked about the starters and they said it would be out soon. The starters came out after most were done their entree and one person still did not have their entree.By the time the final entree came out everybody was done eating. When we questioned the wait staff about this they didn't seem to understand the problem of our disjointed meal timing.Obviousy the standard for any restaurant is for the starters to come first and all entrees at the same time. This was a really frustrating as I reccomended this restaurant to the group and nobody enjoyed it. Cuts down on my credibility.I won't come back.
Service was incredibly slow. There was only one server for all of the tables but it wasn’t busy and it was a Sunday afternoon. I had to ask to get a drink twice after he forgot the first time. We didn’t get napkins until our meal 35 minutes into sitting down even though we had an appetizer. The server wasn’t anywhere to be found to ask for silverware and napkins. Food was good but the service could be improved greatly.
It was sooooooo delicious! I've been to the other location but it was the 1st time here. This place reminds me of some of the best places in Phoenix that are in strip malls and kind of weird spot but great food. I had the 6 tacos for $20 and both of my companions had the enchiladas Verde. All of our food was delicious, Calgary is finally getting more and more great taco joints and I love it!
Great little hole in the wall restaurant! I was introduced by a friend of mine to this restaurant. I am pleased that the service is fairly quick and responsive. The restaurant is clean and has enough seating. The food is excellent and well-priced. The mixed Enchiladas were fantastic and cooked perfectly! The variety of flavours and textures was excellent! It is great that there is accessibility to this restaurant from North or Southbound Macleod Trail. If the front parking is full, you can park on the side of the building too.I am glad that I came here.
After recently having Mexican dinner at another restaurant, we decided to try this place for a comparison and I have to say the results were interesting… upon arriving we were sat at a table and not even two minutes later being asked what we would like to order.. I like quick service but this was a bit too quick. To start our dinner my group and I decided to start with an appetizer, we ordered the Calamari with one limonade drink and one Horchata. Now honestly the Horchata was incredible I almost ordered a second one, the limonade was fresh and tasty, as for the Calamari it was fairly normal with the dipping sauce being a nice combination. As for our main meals we ordered one Chipotle beef (street taco) and one Tampiquena. We both found the beef in both of our dishes to be a bit dry and over cooked, and I found that the tacos could have used a bit more sauce on the shredded beef, the star of my plate was definitely the hot sauce, it was incredibly bold, I really enjoyed it. I would say our experience at this restaurant was about a 3.5 out of 5. The drinks definitely brought the score up, I just wish I could say the same about the main course.
Father's Day choice was Mexican and the reviews looked good. We should have had Tacos as that's the name of the place. But, we chose other items, all bland and mediocre. Waited for someone to take our order, then a very long wait for drinks and another long wait for the food. Luckily we had a card game to play with the children to keep us all amused. The Calamari was tough and bland. The Chimichangas was barely warm, the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce was bland and the mole was very sweet (was it mole or chocolate sauce?)The Tampiquena and Fajitas were okay. All so disappointing. The place was full and noisy, but we were ignored and I could not get a glass of water. We were never asked how our meal was, was there anything else we might like. We asked for a carry out container for the chicken quesadillas as when the request for them was chicken only, guess the waitress didn't understand- chicken only, no sauce, but got the no cheese part. Too bad, but Dad gets them for lunch the next day. As I said, our fault, we should have stayed with tacos as that is probably their specialty. Can't say we are willing to give the place another try as there are many Mexican restaurants in town to choose from.
Been here for dinner and for lunches to try out their taco plate. Suggest ordering the tacos for lunch rather than dinner. The toppings are freshly cooked earlier in the day and dried out by supper time. Their homemade corn tortilla is the star! Soft. Fragrant. Their other dinner offerings are excellent however, with each plate served with seasoned rice and very light and fluffy mashed beans, plus a red and green salsa and a tangy sour cream sauce. The prices are fair for the quality and amount of food you receive. I would return to this restaurant again. They are busy on Friday and Saturday nights and it's not a large restaurant. If you don't want to be disappointed make a reservation.

Awesome food, at a great price! Been there a number times.
I’ve been eating here for 15 years and the food has been amazing every single time. Would recommend over and over again
