GOOD:1. Rolls are good quality, bigger than in most of the other places.1. Nice design and atmosphere.BAD:3. Very slow service. They brought the last sushi combo, when we finished eating. They did apologize for that and applied 10% discount, they said. When I checked, the discount looked like 1%, I asked about it. The server said: oh, the discount was for that combo only, so $1.4. Thanks a lot ?4. When you pay the tips options start from 15%, and 20%, 25%. Either the place is very confident about their service, or think they are just smarter, than everyone else in our suburbs ?
We've come here for lunch a couple of times, and like the variety offered on their menu.Our first visit was good. The waitress was friendly and was able to help substitute an item in his ramen lunch set. Some of the sushi rolls are also larger than other places. Their mango sauce though, is not too great.On our last visit, a different waitress (Asian woman with glasses) was exceptionally rude to us. We wanted to sit in a booth, but she said she was too busy to clean it for us, then just left us standing in the middle of the restaurant. We had to find a table on our own. However, she had the time to clean that same booth for the customers who came in shortly after us.This second visit turned us off so much, that we haven't been back since and is also the main reason for the 2 star review. Terrible service.
Food was amazing, just a bit concerned there was only one waitress doing a lot of jobs all by herself.Yet, the service was great and the food delicious! Great sushi place.
Food here is pretty good but nothing spectacular. The waitress was friendly and kind but the biggest downside was the long wait. It took 45mins to an hour for our food to arrive after we ordered but I can’t blame it on the serving staff. The restaurant was packed with people and there were only two waitresses on duty. This restaurant really needs to hire some more staff or else wait times will remain long.
First time customer. We ordered the Philly, Dynamite and Mango rolls, shrimp tempura. chopped scallops and Unagi.Beautiful presentation, and all the ingredients were so tasty and FRESH! The side sauces were also delicious. The green sauce is a kiwi/wasabi blend (sweet and spicy), and the other was a mango blend. So good!The hot sake, however, only gets 1 star.My new go to sushi spot. Service was also great.Well done Sushi Ai
It’s decent, but not amazing. The rolls have a lot of rice, the steak roll is extremely dry. Other rolls were not bad, I would definitely not recommend the yakisoba though, the ones they make here was basically beef chow mien.
Whether it’s lunch or dinner, rain or shine, it is always consistent! I cannot say that about many restaurants. The food & service is always on point here!
Meh, not sure if I will give this place a third chance... Round one was paper thin nigiri on mounds of rice, round two (today) had the chirashi don with some cheap cuts and many thin cuts. Was expecting a bit more for the price. See one of my nice pieces of chirashi don sushimi cuts in the attached photo. Three of them (different fish) were this size...
2nd time doing take out. I wouldn't say it is one of the best sushi restaurants in Calgary, but for the quality and quantity, I would say it's pretty decent and a good place to visit occasionally. We had sushi last time and I think I prefer the sushi there compared to the rolls. There was a little too much rice and the rice was a bit sticky for sushi. Katsu, we will only have when we eat at the restaurant. All in all, a good experience! We just like it because it's super close to our house!
Loved my lunch here! The Mentai Calamari is to die for! So different and delicious as are their many unique rolls. Too quality ingredients quick service. I can't wait to go back.
