I visited Scotsman's well for dinner on August 6th, part of a group of 3 couples. We are all in our fifties and enjoy the occasional night out together as a group. I am a non-drinker (the only one in the group) and although they only had one variety of non-alcoholic beer, it is a pretty good one. Our waitress was prompt and friendly, the service was very good. Some of our group had cocktails which they found quite good. For dinner, I had the daily special, a striploin with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Unfortunately, it was not very good. The steak was overcooked (that happens sometimes, it is not a steakhouse after all) but the quality and flavor of the meat wasn't good. The price was very reasonable but I would have rather paid more for a better quality steak. The flavor of the mashed potatoes was also quite poor, the side of vegetables was just okay. My wife ordered the steak sandwich and her steak was undercooked; again the meat wasn't very tasty. The waitress gave my wife a discount on her meal which was very kind and very good service. One of our party had a meat lovers pizza which he quite enjoyed.This is the second meal that I have eaten at this restaurant and haven't liked either one.I couldn't recommend Scotsman's Well to anyone for the food but if you are going consider sticking to a burger, pizza, or nachos that it would be fine.Again, the service was very good and the atmosphere was just fine.Maybe just go for a drink and pizza.
Love the service. Will definitely go again, great friendly staff. Had dinner just b4 a hockey game night. Glad we timed it beforehand. Still reasonably solid service even when busy. Thanks!
This place is great - delicious eats, good servers. Sometimes it gets busy so service *may* be slow, but overall I find this place to be really awesome. I would recommend the beef deep, mudcake, yorkshire pudding, the lager chips...seriously the place does good food
16 bucks for the worst pound of wings I’ve ever had… the sauce was decent (buffalo ranch) but the wings were not fresh at all. They were tiny and had that brittle chewiness to them like they had been frozen and thawed 10 times before cooked. Would not recommend anyone to come here for the food, as my girlfriend hated hers, and her friend had to send her food back because it was so bad.The drinks are decent I guess
Scotsman's Well is a staple of North Calgary, still going strong after all these years. The staff is polite, professional and attentive.We came here for my friend's birthday and had reserved a table ahead of time. The pub forgot to hold a table but they were quick to open up a closed section for our group.The food is always good and there are some daily food and drink specials to choose from.
Great food and drink deals! Amazing atmosphere, went around 7 on a Friday and was able to find a table pretty easily. They sell Bulldogs!!!!! Will DEFINITELY be returning for some nacho fries and Bulldogs. If I could give 10 stars I would. Our server was AMAZINGLY sweet and very knowledgeable. Great night all around.
My girlfriend had been here before COVID so she recommended this place for us. We will not be back. We each had a steak sandwich, which could easily be beaten elsewhere although the fries were good. My girlfriend prefers mayo with her fries, which I would think would be part of condiments, but I was charged .99 for this little extra. We were there for Happy Hour. $7.25 for my pint of Coors Lite and $7.99 for her glass of house wine. Perhaps inflation has left me behind, but I do wonder what their regular prices are if these are Happy Hour prices. The place was about half full as we were there on a Wednesday night. I cannot imagine what the noise level would be if it was full. Finally, none of the servers or staff were wearing masks. To my knowledge, the pandemic has not been declared to be officially over.
Went here for my husband's birthday because he was specifically looking for a good Reuban and he was certainly not disappointed! The food was excellent! Really flavourful, and generous portions. The Well's Platter is big enough for 3 people to share as a meal, maybe with a side salad or something. The martinis are delicious and reasonably priced. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the service. Our waitress was reasonably helpful but a little lackadasical and slightly snippy. It was a game night, though, so maybe it was just that she was busy. Overall, I definitely recommend stopping here for good food and a good time.

The food as well as service was excellent. Prices very reasonable, 2 meals two alcohol beverages plus 18%tip was still under $60. Loved it, ambiance is great
