Ordered today off Skip the Dishes.Veggie Samosas 8/10 (came in a TacoTime bag) - a-little shocked but I can look past that.Vegetable Pakora 7/10Punjabi Cholle 7/10Chicken Vindaloo (hot) 8/10Regular naan 8/10Overall food temperature wise was great. I’m a chilli-head so I could of done extra hot on the vindaloo. The pakora didn’t travel well and needed to be reheated. But they were not overly greasy so that was nice. The veggie samosas are probably some of the best in the downtown core. The Punjabi Cholle had a good sauce to chickpea ratio and was tasty! Is it a-little pricey, yes. Would I reorder from here, yes. If you are looking for Indian downtown, give it a try!!

Based on the mixed reviews, I wasn’t too sure if I want to try, but I did give it a chance. I ordered butter chicken, the spinach curry with chicken, nana bread and the fried fish dish. The butter chicken was ok, I thought it was too watery, too much tomato base, not enough spices and no taste and little cubed chicken, like tomato soup. The spinach curry chicken was similar, watery, kind of blunt, no enough taste, not enough spices and only 5-6 small cubed chicken. The fried fish were ok, However I think it was too much breading and it was hard. The nana bread was very good. I paid $16 ish for each curry dish, and I don’t think it’s worth $16-18. Sorry to say this, I definitely had way better curry for $16. Would not go back. Also on google review pictures, most pictures are inside the restaurant and outside of the restaurant, very little pictures on food compared to most restaurants. I really wonder why.

My husband and I love this place but is does lack consistency. Sometimes we order food from here and it is excellent and sometimes it feels like it's from a totally different restaurant. I would say 9 times out of 10, the food is the best Indian food in Calgary. I don't know if they have the buffets anymore but those were the best of the best!

We come at 7:50pm and we order our food and it’s been freaking 50 min and still we haven’t received any food. If it’s like very busy in the restaurant then we would have understand but there is only one more table and I don’t understand why it’s takes like 50minute just to make 3 plate order and why the hell skip is getting their order on time and not us like if you want to prioritize skip first then close this restaurant

I would never ever suggest any body about this restaurant. Totally wastage of money. We ordered chiken curry, chiken tikaa, chiken pkora never try this.

The food was really good and the service too. I ordered kadhai paneer, dal tadka and papdi chat. It was delicious. Must visit if you are in Calgary.Thank you so much

Stay away from this please. I normally don't write reviews but only joined to make sure that other don't do the same mistake again. Their menu says. Royal India Veg Platter A combination of veggie pakoras, veggie samosas, and paneer pakoras. Served with assorted chutneys. Do yourself a huge favour by simply not buying this.

My husband and I went our first date in ages and decided to try this restaurant. The service was awesome and the food was perfect. We had Tandoori Chicken, Fish Pakora, Murgh Malai Tikka, Chai, and Gajar Halwa. Everything was spiced, cooked, and seasoned perfectly. We will definitely be coming back.

I have had Tandoori Chicken at just about every Indian Restaurant in Calgary and in my extensive travels to the USA...By far Royal India has the best TC I have come across anywhere! You have the option of mild, med or hot and they give you 2 sides of amazing chutney with the order. The chicken is cooked to perfection, moist, juicy, meaty and comes with a great serving of cabbage and raw onions on the bottom. You get a very good amount of chicken for the price(which is reasonable) not like other restaurants that give you 4 small, small pieces with no meat on the bones for more money. Yum yum...I haven't tried any of the other dishes as I am a TC addict, but will soon after I get tired of my weekly TC fix. I think they even have a buffet at lunch. Check out Royal India if you love Tandoori Chicken, you will not be disappointed!

Food was really good! Ordered the butter chicken and tiki masala, garlic nan(?). Anyway everything was fresh and great flavor.
