We were at the restaurant celebrating a birthday because it was our daughter’s favourite place. A little disappointed because the food had very little flavour, almost bland. The atmosphere and location is amazing, however the food for the price is not the best. I had the Arctic Char and it is farmed, which is not usual for a high end restaurant and the flavour was very bland. One person in the group had the halibut and two others had the land - all sub par. The beets with the lamb dish had no flavour, so all the food was sub par for the level expected from such high end restaurant. The service was good.
Food was amazing but the service was terrible. It wasn't just that food was slow to come out it was that our waiter forgot about us.
We celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary with our children and their spouses , the service we got is toooo cold our server never even say anything whenever I say thank you and not even an eye contact , her face seems angry and we are not also comfortable , weâre not new in the restaurant but for a restaurant service we got this time is far from what Iâm expecting . The service we got I would say is un acceptable , food is fantastic ambiance is very good , but service is not. We all felt the same , and just want you to know as lesson learned . Please donât ruined a special occasion because of bad service . Thanks
Took about 1 hour 40 minutes from being seated to the time our food came, so donât come hungry. Overall the food was not fantastic and I could find something faster and probably better tasting at any other brunch location. Perhaps the restaurant shouldnât take so many tables if they canât keep up - my friend ended up having to leave without his food after waiting an hour. The only thing I did like was that the seafood is from sustainable source and the ambience of the restaurant is nice.
We sat inside by the window Ambience was nice. Service was great. Waiter was attentive despite waiting for food and drink for a bit. We were not in a rush so no problem. Food was worth the wait
Disappointing. Kitchen was brutally slow and service times were over and hour for orders. Food was mediocre, perhaps due to delays in the kitchen, and the coffee was tepid. Disappointing as the service was friendly, just overwhelmed. River Cafe continues to be an experience better imagined than enjoyed.
Nice environment with great services and food!
The most romantic patio in the city never disappoints. The food is always great, great service and a large wine menu. Recommend sharing a number of appetizers and then sharing a main - good variety for two people. The tomato salad, fettuccine and steak are a great combo.
The server we had was excellent: very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The atmosphere on the patio was wonderful. And of course the food was excellent.
Beautiful setting, spectacular food, attentive service⦠overall the River Café canât be beat.
