I ordered Butter Chicken and Chicken Biryani from Raja's Grill. The person who took my order and was there when I picked up was very nice and welcoming. The Butter Chicken was creamy and sweet and the Biryani was flavorful. I would highly recommend this restaurant
If you've never heard of Raja's or you've never been to Raja's, do Raja's Grill a favor-- no, no, do YOURSELF a favor and go to Raja's Grill. The owner works the counter himself and is an all around great guy. The customer service here is incredible and the food is fantastic. Their dishes always come out consistent. Raja's Grill has some fantastic East Asian foods like kebabs, rice pilaf, butter chicken, naan, and samosas. The last time we asked them to provide foot platters for us to cater a birthday and the platters they gave us delivered in consistency, quality, taste, and easily fed 30 people. I find Indian/Middle Eastern food is a preferred taste and different palates prefer different styles. I for one prefer a spicy butter chicken over the sweet and creamy one (Raja's is the latter). With that being said, with an open mind and and growling stomach I whole heartily say, "definitely give them a try!".
I had been next door getting my haircut and mentioned to my barber that I was going to grab lunch after we were done. He mentioned that I should go to Raja's grill and order the samosas because they were awesome!So I did and they were! I loved the sauce that came with them as well!Big thanks to Eddie at Upper Kutz for suggesting the place, and the two guys working at Raja's Grill this afternoon who made for a great experience! I will definitely be back!
utterly disgusted by the way me and my friends were treated here. The owner holds zero respect for his customers. Asked him “how long is the wait” and received a very shocking response. never in my life has anyone responded to such a simple question in this manner. to top it off, this man tried to later “clear things up” and proceeds to say “parhey likhey insaan hain jaahil nahi bn te.” he offered me free food not as compensation, but as a way to show everyone else in the restaurant that they “hold principals.” After which he only gave us 4/5 of our order - i had to go back inside to grab the 5th again. half the experience of a restaurant is their service and the fact that the OWNER was treating us badly solidifies the fact that i will NEVER eat here again. i suggest the same for anyone else reading this that is concerned about keeping their blood pressure low.
I went there and brought 2 platters. They took a 14 and 18 per plate but the amount was too small even for the toddlers. The taste is not so good. They are too cunning and present smaller amounts as bigger one and cheats with customers. They cut the kabab piece obliquely just for showing it was larger than the actual amount. The sheek was so thin and the taste of rice was just awful. The price of the platters should not be more than 8-10 CAD but they charged almost double.Will never go again and will discourage my friends to be their customers.Overall I will rate 1 out of 5 because I can't rate it 0.
The best Chana I have ever tasted! Good balance of spices, it doesn't feel heavy or greasy. The salt level is perfect. It comes with achar which is just superb, perfect balance of tangy musturdy, spicy green mango taste. The garlic naan simply melts in the mouth. The whole dish is so heart warming and wholesome. I'm so glad to have discovered Raja's Grill, as this is my first time visiting Calgary. I'll be coming back to Calgary for their Chana and Garlic Naan.
