I am 71 and have been enjoying French Cuisine for about 50 years. I have dined in some of the Finest Restaurants from Montreal, Paris, Europe and Africa. Tonight I had dinner at Purlieu for the first time with a friend. I will Rate it as Follows:1. Tartar = 4 Stars2. Escargot = 3 Stars3: Lamb = 2 Stars (Served cold, I am certain this meal sat for too long before being served.)4. Moules = 3 Stars ( Presentation of dish was not correct)5: Price = 3 stars ( Reasonable if one does not consume alcoholic beverages.)6: Service = 2 stars ( Room for improvement )7: Atmosphere = 1 star (Tables are too close to each other. People were much too loud for my liking. The loud chatter would take over the entire room. Perhaps partitions and soft music would help )I love French Cuisine and will be trying other restaurants in Calgary before I return to this one. Hopefully they will have improved by then.

Recently had my birthday dinner at Purlieu and it was an enjoyable experience, albeit not the most memorable. The food was rich and flavorful (appetizers: escargot, steak tartare, & calamari, entrees: lamb, tagliatelle, & mussels) and visually appealing but the saltiness was overpowering in some dishes and portions were quite small.Space is limited in the restaurant so it was a little difficult to feel some of that intimacy that you want when dining out for a birthday dinner. Not sure if I will be back anytime soon but im glad that we tried it!

Food, ambiance and service all superb. Great vibe and value. First time for me ordering lamb and it was the best choice. Don't miss out on this gem!

Amazing food and very attentive staff. A friend recommended the restaurant and it has been our best dining experience in Calgary in 8 years - hands down. Highly recommend

Lovely meal I had artic char and Al had burger and fries. We will be back soon.

What a treat. Can’t believe I didn’t know this place was so close to home. Everything was 10/10 food and service wise we’ll be back for sure. Recommend the lamb sirloin.

Delicious food, amazing service. Great little hidden gem!

The service was okay, vegetates were not edible... chicken was good. When two of us ordered that meal and both mentioned this we were not offered a replacement for the vegetables. When we addressed that the vegetables were inedible her attitude was that "yes they are not good", after she went back and tried them, however too bad for us ..... we will not go back.

The food was really good and the French 75 cocktail was superb! So happy to have a local quaint neighborhood restaurant where it feels like home. I very happy to have found this place!

Great little bistro. The appetizers squid, creole prawns and crab spring rolls were both flavourful and well executed.Mussel was nicely cooked and packed taste! The lamb sirloin was perfectly cooked but the fat was not very pleasant. The food was screaming hot!Solid skills in the kitchen offering an appealing selection of dishesThe service was outstanding, the server was very knowledgeable about the food on the menu and seemed to anticipate our needs before we spoke to her!! Fantastic. Will be back
