It is quite the cavernous place to feast on BBQ. The servers do a really good job of keeping up with the patrons and never letting their glasses go empty. There are many delightful beers on tap to compliment any of the succulent BBQ meats they provide. The variety of meat here is refreshingly varied and prepared very well. The portions were a little smaller than I had hoped for. The 2 person sampler seemed more like a 1 person sampler. It tasted great though. It would also be great to have more visual aides for their sauces that are available. It sometimes felt like work trying to understand what they serve abd what sides are available. If you are a repeat customer it probably gets easier. It is certainly easy to see the building and find parking too.

I loved the the communal atmosphere in this place. The ability to order flight of beer allows us to try a wide variety of beer. Our waitress Thalice was great and answered all of our questions

Excellent beers (we had a flight from a large selection), very tasty food (shared a pastrami sandwich) and wonderfully friendly service. This is a large and by all appearances a very professionally run brewpub/restaurant. A no tipping policy (we obviously tipped because it was so good). Met a couple of other diners, local ladies, who also raved about the place. Prairied Dog should be used as a model on how to do it right!

I’ve been here 3 times and it’s consistently been good. In my most recent visit I was most impressed with the size of their beer list!! So many to try. My bf and I got two flights of 6 beers and there were still many we didn’t get to. Next time!Note: tip is included in the menu pricing. So no need to tip here. Some people love it, others hate it but just be aware that’s their policy!Oh, and it’s family friendly! Which was amazing because it’s tough to find a fun place that allows kids. My friends have 2 three year olds so booster seats and a kids menu were extremely helpful.

Definitely the place to go for the best brisket and such in Calgary! Their draught flights are to die for also. Will definitely be back!

Large tap-room- you can see the brewery equipment from the table- so there's a distinct 'industrial' feel to the decor. It's presented as an inclusive safe space and there are posters reminding patrons this is the case.Offers a wide range of beers brewed on-site as well as some guest taps. Some eclectic brews available- chilli and chocolate stout for example.Growler refills are available, and are discounted on Tuesdays. 4 pint pitchers are good value. The menu is very much centred around their huge smoker. I've tried most of the items on the menu and enjoyed all of them, but particularly recommended the brisket. The corn bread is probably my favourite side dish. Worth trying a few of their BBQ sauces too.Unlike many other places, tipping is not actively encouraged. You can tip but it's not expected- which makes a refreshing change. There's a pretty generous loyalty rewards program that's free to join. Worth signing up for even if you don't visit very often.Washrooms are unisex and wheelchair friendly, and are kept very clean.Good venue for a pleasant evening out. You won't leave hungry.

Such a great place to eat mouth watering BBQ and drink amazing beer. Friendly staff, always warm and welcoming and know their beer. Businesses like Prairie Dog are staples in the community and an integral part of the Barley Belt and craft beer industry in Calgary.Good to be back!

Absolutely amazing brewery! Great food and great drinks. What I'm most impressed with is that the owners pay everyone a living wage, so they advertise that tipping is optional. I mentioned how great I thought it was to our waitress and she said the owners actually cared and it was better than any other place she's worked. A fantastic place to support. They also have individual bathroom stalls which is fantastic!

I gave 3 stars as the food was good. The Beer was great. The service was lacking. They could have used another server. We were almost late getting out of there. It didn't live up tot he hype on the BBQ Podcast. Mind you it took me two years to get there. Thanks Covid.

Friendliest bartender ever! Love love the ambiance of this place and beer selection is tops!!! Cannot wait to take group here for the epic beer and BBQ experience ?
