My first time at Pie Junkie. Amazing customer service, I was greeted by Lauren. She answered all my questions, recommended some pies and she let me know about other Pie Junkie locations. The place is welcoming and the butter tarts were delicious. Come try this place it will not disappoint.
Literally my favourite place on the planet! Had a savoury and sweet pie and both were 10/10! I wish I lived in Calgary so I could eat here every day and try all the new pies they come up with!
We just tried this for the first time! Overall, the location was nice and the woman working was polite and knowledgeable. The pies themselves were great, although not as good as I had imagined them. Still, I recommend checking this place out for your pie fix. The small pies are perfect for picnics.
Great pies...we always buy many of the small pies to enjoy more flavors. Banana pudding is my favourite so far...my wife loves the lemon meringue and the chocolate peanut butter. I also had a few hand pies for my lunch..also very good! Staff is very friendly and pleasant. Strong recommendation!
Good selection. I wasn’t overly impressed. They are pies. Not particularly better than other places, except they had some good flavours. The banana Carmel one was good. The crust is a bit dry and on the smaller pies there’s just too much of it. I’d rather just a piece of the big pie, so the crust to filling ratio is better. But they don’t do individual slices, just smaller personal pies.I will say I didn’t try a bigger pie so maybe those are better with the amount of crust.
We were so excited when we picked up our strawberry and white chocolate pie. It was nicely decorated. But the excitement dropped drastically when we served the pie. The crust was so hard and it feels the crust was pre made long time ago. The fillings was so runny that the pie collapsed on the serving plate. We ended up eating the fillings first and then the crust separately. We couldn't even put a fork through the crust. Super disappointing.
I had Banoffee (banana toffee) pie for the first time years ago in St. Lucia. I have been searching for a comparable pie since and have finally found it. The crunchy, flakey crust, with a good amount of banana and toffee center, beautifully piped with real whip cream makes this one the winner. It's very sweet so even the individual size is a lot for one person. Everything about the pie is reminiscent of my first. Subsequently, I have tried other flavours and all are perfected to a very high standard. I am not a pie enthusiast by any means, but this place is the only place I will buy pies. I also enjoy the natural fibre (wood) band embossed with their name around each pie. Easy to re-use or simply compost. Very smart.
Savory pies are alright. The crust could use some work. Very crumbly vs flaky and surprisingly very greasy when reheated. The key lime pie was on point though ?
The business is appropriately named as the pies are JUNK! We went to the Crowfoot location. Without a doubt the WORST lemon meringue pie we have ever had. The crust was so tough that a knife would not cut through it. I had to use the very tip of a butchers knife to try and get through the crust. The lemon filling was a runny custard with a bitter taste. For $29.00 this is disgusting! Was so hopeful it would be good. I will never go to Pie Junkie again. My mother in law is 89 and said she has never had such a tough pie crust ever. If was funny seeing her pick it up like a piece of pizza to try and bite through the crust! Wish I had just gone to Co-op, Safeway or Sobeys as they make far better pies.
The pies here are absolutely amazing. They also do hot pies if you can wait 10 mins for them to heat it up in the oven.No exaggeration at all the pastry and fillings are the best I’ve ever eaten. This store is great and I would strongly recommend you give it a visit. The single pies are $6-$10 and they’re really filling and 100% worth it.
