They have a no laptop policy, which is very unfriendly for a “cafe.” I get it; it's about table turnover and profitability. Still, they should state that on here, their Google listing, and make it more apparent because I drove across town to experience this place, leaving me with an unsavoury feeling at the entrance. It is a lovely space, and the selections look fantastic, but not friendly to the business or student crowds who wish to eat a meal or have a drink with their laptop.I have changed my initial 1-star rating to a 4-star based on the facility and their response with a thorough reply.
I am usually not posting reviews, except for the times that I am really happy with a service and I would want others to know about it and actually appreciate that service. But unfortunately this one is the opposite! This was our third time here and most probably the last time. Unfortunately our server had a very unprofessional behavior which we could not understand why! Not even a little smile on his face and very reluctant to come to our table and talk to us. We were there with our 1 year old and when we asked for a high chair, he said that they don't have any.At the end, while paying the bill we asked what's the reason that they don't have high chairs and he said that he's not aware of any policy that they should have and he said that he's only working there hourly (with the least amount of care that he could give). Sure, there might not be a policy with regards to high chairs in a restaurant, but it definitely makes it more relaxing and easier for the parents with little kids. I told him if it's a family place, it's nice to have highs chair and if it's not they should mention that in their google page. So to explain more he added that they don't have high chairs since they're trying to keep the place "FANCIER"!!!What's the definition of fancy here?!?We were a family and our 1 year old needed a place to comfortably sit!! So that she would not be sitting on the table or on our lap and trying to reach out to every single thing on the table (specially things like knives and forks). When I asked to talk to a manager, he said that he's a manager too and he'll carry the message (again very carelessly!!)Such a disappointing experience for an afternoon chill! Will not come back and we do NOT recommend this place to families with their sweet little ones.
Really disappointed. We wanted to try this place out as it’s down the road from us, but the first time my husband went he brought his laptop and despite only having one other table taken, they told him he couldn’t work on his laptop there. We understood as maybe they didn’t want a table taken up for very long, although my husband had every intention of ordering food/drinks. Then, we went this morning and were first in line. We came with our baby and stood in line with a couple behind us for a few minutes. Finally a girl behind the bar said someone would be with us shortly and the girl who I assume was the hostess came by and completely blanked us and spoke with the couple behind us and gave them the last table. We stood around another several minutes before she finally approached us and without apologizing said she had spoken to the other couple and unfortunately gave them the last table so we would have to wait (the other couple came in after us and again, were behind us). So we asked if we could wait outside. She did not offer us anything to drink in the mean time. She just said something should open up shortly. After 10 minutes or so I thought I’d ask if we could just be served outside. She said no, and made sure to tell me it would still be a few minutes to wait. No apology. No offer to get us drinks while we wait. Nothing. It wasn’t cold out but it wasn’t entirely warm either. Eventually we just left. I felt like I didn’t want to give my money to a place when right off the bat the staff is unapologetically rude and dismissive. It’s a shame as I really would have loved to make that place a regular spot.
My friend Connie and I both brought our dogs and enjoyed a gorgeous breakfast last week outside in the sun. My food tasted excellent, was served smoking hot and the portion size was great for a big eater like me. The staff were welcoming, kind, and attentive. I will be back!
One of my favourite spots in the city for sure. Staff go over and above to make your experience great. Food is always fresh and delicious. Plus the variety of unique products are always fun to checkout. Highly recommend!
Place was hoppin for my lunch time visit. Lots of unique products for sale. Had the chicken sandwich and fries for take out. Was disappointed it did not have more flavor, was well cooked and on a fresh bun. flavor was just lacking. Will try again maybe they were just to busy today.....
Food was good but staff acted odd. We were just going for a walk so i didn't grab my mask, we decided to got for a hot chocolate so I asked for one and was told they don't have any and I should go elsewhere to get one.So I did this then we go sit down and they complained that my girls mask was not good enough and gave her a mask to wear. Vibe was just oddly complicated after that for no reason.
One of my favourite places to treat myself! Tasty treats, good vibes and unique take home meal options. Also my go to place to create unique gift boxes, love their assortment of gifts! I am always proud and excited to support local at ODB.
I'm always amazed at how delicious AND healthy the food is at ODB. I'm personally addicted to their Siracha popcorn, but I'll never say no to a delicious little latte stop either. Highly recommended, one of the best restaurants in the beltline!
Just to pre-face this review, I order from Our Daily Brett several times a week.Today was the absolute worst customer experience. I came in with two friends to grab take out. The gentlemen operating the POS wasn't friendly, didn't greet us, or was engaging. Several products in the fresh market were not labeled with prices. I brought this to his attention, and he didn't even acknowledge the comment and said that the beef jerky I was holding was $7. After making our three separate orders, there was a long wait when the kitchen and bar were not busy. The same gentlemen abruptly told us to move and stand by the product wall. Wasn't very pleasant in a very condescending tone. After waiting, another 10 minutes for my coffee I tried my gluten free coffee which was not fresh and crumbled apart in the bag. I went back to the till to exchange it, and the lovely blonde girl was more then happy to help. The gentlemen took the bag, and you could feel his distain for the situation. After waiting even longer, we noticed the gentleman from the till circling outside smoking while looking super anxious before returning inside (not very professional in front of customers). I then approached the bar to ask about the status of my coffee. The female barista said "oh sorry, I thought it was a call in order" and then proceeded to make my drink. She was super kind and apologetic about it.As we waited for our last item, we couldn't even hear our name be called because of where we were told to stand. The entire experience felt super jarring. After arriving home, my friend Hunter opened up her breakfast sandwich to her dismay that it wasn't on a gluten free bun, and did not include the avocado that she paid for. She proceeded to call the restaurant and spoke to the gentlemen from the till. He told her that the Chef made the sandwich said that they were out of the "long bun" and that the bun is actually gluten free just round. "What about the missing avocado." He proceeded to say that the Chef put avocado on her sandwich, however if you say it's not on it I'll have to believe you. He offered to leave a credit for the avocado - nothing else. No apologies. No accountability. This entire experience left a poor tase in our mouths - literally.
