Overall a very nice restaurant. Would return on special occasions. Tonnes of room and nooks and rooms to hideaway in or nice patio overlooking Stephen Ave if you prefer to people watch. The happy hour food and Price's was lovely and well presented. The staff were extremely friendly and helpfulFood was excellent and the beer menu had a nice mix of options.Negatives - Drinks were really slow.. really really slow. The menu was incredibly confusing and not well laid out. There were several different menus for drinks food lunch dinner, etc... ( Keep it simple!) The info on happy hour was hard to find online. The menu online didn't match the paper copies for certain items and pricing was unclear. While there was some info on the building itself, It would have been nice to have more history / old photos of Stephen Ave or the hotel in the menu to showcase how beautiful the setting is. It's definitely an underrated gem in Calgary.
Had such a wonderful experience at Murrieta's in Canmore that I decided to try the one in Calgary on Friday (also first day of the Stampede) for lunch. The location is great, and the building is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The hostess was very friendly and inviting and sat us at our table. We waited a while to finally get our drinks and to put in our order for food and it seemed the staff working may've been a bit inexperienced (unfortunately not a good day for an inexperienced compliment of staff to be working) but the drinks and food were quite good when we got them. I had ordered an Alberta Skies Cocktail and was going to order a second but my husband waited over 10 minutes for his second drink and it would've meant we would've been late for our other plans for the day. The table was cleared and we had to flag our waitress down for the bill. The staff were all very nice, they just didn't seem to be quick and/or attentive for Stampede Day.Given our experience I still would recommend Murrieta's and I will likely dine here again as the food, drinks and location are wonderful - Just hoping the staff will be better trained or that there will be more of them.
I like their pasta here. The sauce is a well mixed of ingredients, it is very flavorful and so good. The pasta noodles are cooked perfectly..I have tried in other place having my noodles still somewhat stiff I couldn't even enjoy my pasta with that. The calamari is amazing too! Its chewy but tolerable plus the squid taste is really there, not all flour. The dip is nice and complements it. Nice place with great dishes!
Went here with my mom because she heard about this place and wanted to try their food. So, as soon as I had my off we immediately went here. My mom liked the place and said that she would love to come back again here. We loved the dishes we ordered that we did some take out. They were all perfectly cooked and presented. Every bite the feeling of satisfaction is there. I can say they are delicious up to the last piece. They really did great with the foods.
One of the reasons why I love this place is how good their service is. I can't say that it is perfect but you can see how they wanted their customers to have a memorable and satisfying dining experience. From the moment we went in, to ordering our foods, and even after meal, they see to it that every one gets what they deserve, and that the foods are very much worthy of the price we paid. We enjoyed the foods so much. Definitely will be back again.
Very nice and delicious food !
Would not recommend, the man who met us when we walked in was rude and smug when he said that if we didn’t have a reservation then they couldn’t seat us even though the place was half empty. We came back the next day and said yes we had a reservation and they seated us without even asking for our name. The meal was just okay, I asked for a mojito for a a drink and what they brought me was definitely not that. They need a new bartender and new greeter!
Went as a large party for a private event. The place has an ambience to it that takes you back in time. Just amazing and tres chic. Our server was very polite and answered all our questions and happily considered all the allergies when taking the order. He was also knowledgeable about the wine menu.In terms of food order the "Artisan green" which was disappointing in terms of both quantity (small) and taste (bland). Others on the table ordered the "tomato soup" which was definitely better than the greens. The Flatiron steak was the 2nd course was really cool well, but the only option was medium well. The chocolate brownie was probably one of the best I have ever had and was extremely light. Ended up eating any leftover dessert on the table :)
Lovely location and Great vibe! You don’t expect such a great place when you are going up the stairs.Wednesday wine night was awesome with half price wines and the steak was juicy and tasty.Cool chuck paintings all over the walls which was great.
Just live down the street. Great food. Picked up some ready to heat lasagna last night. Very good.Nice place and would like to check out the bar and oh ya pizza is supposed to be awesome. Love my neighbors, businesses and .. area
