i paied my bill in cash and the waitress gave me some panamean coins as change just because i had a foreign accent.
Good spot for a late night bite. There wasn’t much else open at 11pm, so my expectations weren’t high, but I was pleasantly surprised. Super fresh and well made burger with very fresh ingredients. The fries were delicious and fresh too!
Yeah I have to say this was an unexpected visit. I ran tardy with work, and rolled into Calgary late. Too late to have a meal at one of my favorite places near my pre-flight hotel. The hotel desk recommended a late meal at Moxie’s, within walking distance … and I’m glad they did! I was alone, so finding a table in the lounge was easy. The staff was prompt and knowledgeable of the drinks menu and of their entrees. Perfect. The Old Fashioned here is pedestrian, but the strip steak they followed up with is exceptional. Great sides, making a beautiful meal at that late hour.
The drinks were too strong/not tasty. The nachos were too salty.
Fatherâs Day is obviously very busy and you have take that into consideration. However, my husband was not offered any refills and we did have to wait quite some time for the bill. They had a kids menu which was appreciated, but the glassware did not have lids so keep that in mind if your children are really young. I still enjoyed the food which is why we chose that restaurant, but it did have some blips in the service.
This was a last-minute decision to eat here. Checked out OpenTable and Moxies was available. The atmosphere was great, food was delicious, and our server was perfect. Everything was good, and we will definitely be back!
Had a new waitress that was in training. Very impressed with how the training was monitored and supported. Excellent food as always! My go to restaurant when overnighting in Calgary!
Jarrod was amazing, made great recommendations and very hospitable. Food was awesome.
The meal was sub par. The main course was ordered to accommodate dietary restrictions. Substitutions that were ordered didnât arrive. The sirloin steak was full of gristle Asparagus was also tough and woody. The calamari appetizer was excellent and very tasty. It would appear that there was a shortage of waiters as service very sparse. The price point for the value was over what the meal was worth
We arrived and were promptly seated by a friendly greeter. After that ...nothing. About 10 minutes later, we were about to leave when the server arrived. I exclaimed that we we had not received even water yet, and was gruffly told that they were super busy. They were not. I ordered a medium rare steak, and did not hear that the server was confirming what a medium rare steak is, so the server became miffed when he had to repeat himself. (Why tell me what medium rare is if I don't ask?). I was not looking when my partner ordered, but she was too slow, it seemed, for his taste. After he left my partner exclaimed that she was going to complain about how the server had made her feel. Instead, we just left, leaving $40 in gift cards from the nearby hotel. We have been to other Moxies before and always enjoyed the experience. Not at this one. Won't be back.
