Boiled in honey water and cooked in a wood stove, these bagels are worth the trip! We usually buy a dozen and they’re gone by the next day. My family loves these soft tasty bagels. We are glad they’re in Calgary. Tuesdays are their deal day- a dozen for $11. *They take cash only.*They have a cooler with drinks, cream cheese, and smoked meat.The family is hard working and always happy when you speak to them with kindness.
Love this place. But… within the last 2 months I’ve noticed the bengals are more New York than Montreal. A lot more airy and big and not dense or as sweet. I’m fearful the recipe has changed.Edit: Went back a month later and bought more bagels. Same as before. Thicker and puffier. Not as dense as they have been. They float somewhere between a Montreal and a New York bagel. Not as browned either.
These bagels are incredible, chewy and delicious. I often eat them plain without toasting them - they’re that good. However, the hours are a bit weird and they only take cash.
I have only one word to describe that place: GROSS !!! I don’t believe all the good reviews. I went there one time and I saw very little bagels and when I tried the taste was so fade and the texture so dry. Don’t go there!
AVOID THIS PLACE. RUDE WORKERS. I was looking for bagel spot this morning and came across this place. I was frustrated by the lack of pictures of their product and what they served as it looked scarce, so I wanted to take pictures. They opened up at 9am on Saturday and I arrived there at 9 45am. When I arrived, they were out of poppy seed, cinnamon raisin and rainbow bagels... at 9 45am. What type of business establishment runs out in less than the 1st hour. The lady said that they were focused on making more poppy seed and rainbow when I asked her the ETA on the cinnamon raisin, so no telling when that would be available. Anyway, I decided to take pictures of the lack of offering and I hear an attitude voice saying no pictures and how it's illegal. I told her that I know the law quite well and it's not illegal for make to take pictures and then she changed her tone as there are no signs posted. She asked if it was my first time, I said yes, and I won't be back. She then responded: we don't mind if you don't come back. I said: I can tell you don't mind if I don't come back.Back to the sandwich I actually ordered (she was making it as we spoke about the pictures), it basic. Bagel itself is nothing special, it's on the smaller side of most bagels and smoked salmon is from President's choice brand. It wasn't worth the $10 honestly. You can buy all of the ingredients and make more.Because of her attitude, I am going to post the pictures that I have with her.
The sweet couple that run the place are a breath of fresh air and the bagels are addictive. So chewy and good! We load up every time we go to Calgary.

My favourite bagel in Calgary. It's not like a typical bagel shop. Consider it more of a bakery than a sandwich shop.

Super unimpressed! New owners who are incredibly rude!!! The claim to only do orders now and refuse to take new orders when asked. Don’t bother stopping in as the new owners are not worth your money!
