Edit: I was contacted very promptly and I am very appreciative how involved the owner is in wanting the customer to have a great experience. And also, how involved they want to be in terms of food quality and proper training of staff. Not a lot of restaurants respond let alone share what they want to or will change. Thank you for reaching out and taking our reviews seriously. I will be back.The server I had was amazing but it ends at that. The steak was literally a hockey puck. So difficult to chew, almost tasted like it was pre cooked and then heated before served. Very unfortunate because I've never experienced this before at Montanas. The quality has definitely gone down while the price has gone up. The shrimp were burnt also. Cook a tad longer doesn't mean roasted. Not a great meal and definitely a waste of money. I assume no follow up is going on in terms of reviews - and no changes. I usually come here a every otherwise but I won't be returning again. The experiences have been less enjoyable each time.
A little disappointed with my takeout order. There was a clear cut through the middle of my steak. Last time I checked, including myself being a home cook, you tell the temp either by meat thermometer OR by feel of the meat. I’ve never been to a restaurant where they put a cut in the middle of your steak to check temp. Sounds like you guys need better chefs. Also forgot the mashed potatoes and mushrooms for my order. Hopefully you guys and rectify this in the future as this is the 3rd time I’ve ordered this exact same meal from you and this is the first time this has happened.
This big beef rib was delicious. Huge portion, enough to feed two.The rib was so tender, we were able to slip the bone right out. Very flavourful - I recommend their applewood smoked bbq sauce.The fries were awesome too - very crispy, a great crunch when you take a bite.
The server was nice. Food was just ordinary. Cozy place to stay. Steak was tough but ribs was awesome.
Very friendly staff. Clean, quiet booths and quick service. Food was better than expected for a chain, love that I can still draw on the tables too while I wait.
The staff is friendly and the service is good. The food, however, is horrible. I don’t know if it is just this location or Montanas in general. I used to love the four cheese spinach dip. The past two times I have had it, it was disgusting. It tastes like everything is dusted in the most disgusting spice and it is way too hot. Even if they bring back the original spinach dip I don’t know if I can eat it ever again because of this last experience. The Kapow shrimp had the same weird spice on it. Normally, they taste nothing like this. I won’t be choosing to eat here for a long time. I am surprised I did not have food poisoning. My Mom who shared the meal with me was sick. This used to be one of my favourite places.
Me and my wife went here last weekend for our first anniversary dinner. Food was great (especially the wings) service was amazing and when the manager Steve found out it was our anniversary he gave us a dessert on them and helped a bit with the bill! It was very kind and unexpected but very appreciated very good experience here will be going again.
We went on a Sunday at 1:30pm for lunch and were informed that should we want to order ribs, it would be an hour wait as they were “still getting ready for the day”. What? You have them on your menu and you open at 11am, shouldn’t they be ready then? Two of my girls had wanted ribs. Next we ordered some 7-up, which was just carbonated water, though the waitress did fix that problem once we told her. Finally, “just a warning”, no cookies available for the kids dessert. So…no ribs, flavourless pop and no cookies. Lame. Plus the food was fatty and flavourless. When the fries are the best part of your meal there’s a problem. Not worth the money.
