Decided to go there based on their high rate.The restaurant ambience is very average. The hostess was very nice.We ordered Markos roll for the appetizer. The filing was fine but no something you want to try again.Cordon Bleu was their best dish we tried but didn't have a wow factor.The burek was soggy and oily.The BBQ platter was the worst dish of the night. Nothing gourmet about burgers, below average. Extremely salty sausage. Chicken was average. Chevapi was fine. The pork loin was ok.Overall the food was very greasy, too expensive for the quality, and only focused on quantity.They serve home made food which you appreciate if you are invited to their house.Sorry Mario's kitchen, don't want to be harsh critic, just wish you success and hope you find ways to make the restaurant betterTo support the family business we will visit them again. I hope they also work on the food to change it restaurant worthy
Had the pleasure of trying this place out, and I'm very happy I did. A quaint bistro that has a lot of charm and fantastic food. I tried the cabbage rolls and they were perfect, good portion size, and a very nice simple presentation. I also tried the black and white cake and it was very rich and tasted home made. Service was excellent, and the server provided insights into the restaurant and cuisine. It was a great experience and hope you all can experience it for yourself.
What can I say about this place that hasn’t already been said? I absolutely LOVE it here. It was our first time coming in today and it will now be a regular stop in our restaurant rotation. The food is lovingly prepared with whole ingredients and no additives. Plenty of gluten free and low carb options if that’s your thing. We ordered the chicken cordon bleu which was so so good. The oozing cheese centre was decadent without being greasy and clumpy as I’ve found other places. We also had the burek which is seriously worth a trip in and of itself. But what makes Marko’s extra special isn’t just the home cooked style food, but the absolute pleasure and joy with which it’s prepared and served. You can feel this food is made with love and that every plate is a tribute to Marko, the owners son, a son who by the way, took the time to greet each table with a handshake. What a magical little spot to stop and have a bite. It feels like home here and we will be back again and again and again.

Looking for a delicious home cooked style meal with many healthy options? Or have dietary restrictions that require that extra level of care in your meal? Marko's Kitchen has something for everyone with a healthy spin on some classics. We tried the stuffed pepper entree, the chicken cordon and burger.. all very delicious and left us feeling full, but comfortable. The service was excellent and the ambiance in the restaurant very cozy. We will definitely be coming back when in Calgary.
Very nice, simple yet intimate restaurant, offering Serbian dishes with Balkan flair.Tasty Turkish coffee.I assume the deserts are made by others and taste was not totally authentic!Very pleasant service. Patrons are mostly from the businesses in the industrial area.Clean and inviting space, sunny patio too.
