I've never actually been here in person. I got food from here for the first time through a food delivery app.My team at work ordered food for everyone through the app. Given it was a big group order, I put my name on the delivery instructions along with a kitty face to help me find my food when the order arrived.In a fantastic misunderstanding, the restaurant sent a Stella Artois and drew a kitty face on the can.In essence, I unintentionally had alcohol (which I don't even drink) sent to work.The food was great (I had a LOCAL burger with fries), but it's the restaurant's incredible service that led me to write this review. Huge shout out to whoever drew the kitty face on the can. Thank you for the great lunch and great story!
The service here was absolutely incredible. Brynn, and Jordan we so accommodating and helpful. And the best nachos we have ever had!!!
Our first time in Calgary and we were looking for a bite in the early afternoon. LOCAL had a great selection of appetizers, mains, and drinks. Service was excellent. The ambiance was great too- great place to people watch! Highly recommend LOCAL Public Eatery.
Had a steak with fries. The sauce on steak was absolutely tasty ? Steak was also well prepared and as I expected. They had only one cider which was left with no choices. The staff was friendly and outdoor seating was awesome.
one of the few places on Stephen Avenue open for lunch on Sunady was a complete trainwreck. The order was wrong and they ended up comping it. The hostess stopped seating folks due to the poorly staffed kitchen. avoid unless you just want to drink
Fabulous experience, great plethora of flavors in each dish, fresh off the stove and downed with chilled beer.. truly cherishable meal and a must visit next time to Calgary...
Malaysian curry didn't taste as good as it looked i had better than this. Last best west coast ipa and red sangria were good.
Interesting experience here the other night. Service was very slow and unorganized. The servers didn't seem to know who to take food to.Our server didn't seem to be too familiar with the menu as one of our orders ended up being wrong even after clarifying the contents of the order.She may have been new, which is possible because after I finished paying, she commented on my tip amount assuming I meant to give more. Not something a professional server would do.The cash tip I gave after the fact should've went directly to the kitchen. The food was great. The service was offensive.And if that wasn't enough, there was a guy begging people for change over the patio fence, us included. There was a couple behind us that moved tables because of it. Management must have been sick that night because it didn't seem like they were there.
Maude was so awesome and helpful with our dinner. It was my friends birthday and she made us feel so welcomed and recommended great drinks that would fit together with our meal. She made time to talk to us and asked about what our plans were for the night. She made the experience so great! Thank you so much for making it a night to remember!!
Local is great for accommodating big groups. We went here for a flames playoff game and the energy was awesome. Food is really good for the price, and the location down town makes it easy to hop around to other locations as well.
