We were really looking forward to ordering from Li-Ao since we haven’t had it for a very long time. From what we remember, the quality was comparable to Kinjo. We ordered 3 Ramens, 3 specialty rolls and some sashimi. We were very disappointed when it arrived as we spent over $200+ for this order. The rolls seemed dry and flavour less. And the ramen was very westernized to my liking. The romaine lettuce inside it was weird. And the veggies inside seemed like it came from a frozen bag of peas and corn. Will not order from this place again.

The chef that they newly hired has perfected the art of sushi. His name was zack and I personally had to thank him. I strongly recommend going here even though the prices may be high the quality of food and attention to detail put into it by the chefs like zack is worth it Definitely will be visiting again!

Food was amazing but service was even better! The manager was very polite and understanding, and made it easy to order sushi especially for a beginner like me. Highly Recommend!

While the sushi we ordered was pretty tasty overall (though the rice was coming apart a bit) the value wasn’t really there. For $65 we had just enough food to satisfy two people. Considering we only had 5 pieces of sashimi and the rest was rolls and 2 cones, we weren’t overly impressed. Would like to see better value and we’d be regular customers. We order sushi 2-3 times a week usually through Skip and decided to give this place a try through DoorDash.

Ordered by recommendation from a friend. I cannot say I'm impressed. For $35 we could have bought better sushi from T&T. Ordered unagi and it was chewy and had a strange dirt aftertaste that you don't get when ordering from Hana Sushi, Kinjo, Hiro Sushi, etc. The portion sizes are smaller than expected, but I chalk that up to the pandemic. However, the quality speaks for itself. I will not be ordering from here again.

The best sushi place in the NW. Premium quality and reasonable prices.Very lovely and welcoming staff. Highly recommended

Not that great. Ordered for a New Years party from door dash. Food was subpar given the cost. Sashimi cuts were something comparable to a kindergarten student. Lacked flavour and the pictures advertised do not represent the quality.

Came here for a birthday lunch as we were in the city, and we were not disappointed, wonderful fresh food, great prices and the staff are absolutely the most polite and nicest people we have ever met,. We will be back again with more people to try it!

Ordered sushi, steak teriyaki, and yakitori chicken . The teriyaki was terrible. It was full of fat and gristle. What actual meat there was was extremely tough almost like jerky. The sauce itself was watery. The Yakitori chicken tasted boiled. Again, terrible. The only thing that was redeemable about the meal was the sushi which was decent. They even have real crab. However I will not order from this place again and am actually ready to give up on finding any decent Japanese food in Calgary.

The beef tataki, miso soup, and agedashi tofu were delicious. Sushi and sashimi were very good portions, they don't skimp. Fantastic service. I will be back!
