Probably the best all around viet place in Calgary. The fish sauce was excellent, the pork chop with scallion sauce was amazing. Glad we came early on a Thursday lunch as the place got packed. But they still pumped the food out quickly. The pho beef was tender and broth was very good. My kids ate their whole bowls. Spring rolls were excellent and full of meat. Everything was cooked well and the family that runs this place is joyful. Sometimes bubble tea in smaller restaurants don't taste good, but their flavours and bubbles were perfect. I will be back.
We have been going to Hong An for years now, we have tried Vietnamese restaurants all over Calgary and we still think that this is the best one in the whole city! It is owned by the sweetest family who takes care of their clients like they are their own family members. The best thing? Every meal we get has been consistently the same delicious food since 8 years ago AND there is no msg...we are never dying of thirst after and there is so much flavor in their food/home made broth. The rest of the menu is amazing (we have tried most of the menu but always keep going back to our fav pho soup cause we love the broth so much). Amazing service, amazing food, and tons of love into what they do! Go support local and try them out!
I have been going to Hong An for about 4 years so fat. The food and service is amazing! They deserve all five stars. They also have no problem accommodating food allergies as well.
Absolutely fantastic food and service. I highly recommend the banh mi sandwiches. After eating from here for years I can confidently recommend the sate beef as having been sourced from high quality cuts. The restaurant environment is small but very pleasant and welcoming, and the service received from the restaurant owners is fantastic. If forced to choose only one dish for the remainder of my life, a banh mi sate beef would likely be it.When next looking for good food and service in South East Calgary give Hong An, located on 130th avenue just off of Deerfoot trail. You will not regret it.
Hong Ann is a staple in my diet, they’ve quickly become family after my weekly visits. Their food is extremely tasty and it’s always fresh.Highly recommend this place.
I've been coming here since a family member first told me about the place. All I can say is that I've had Vietnamese from all over the city and this place is hands down one of the best. Details: Vermicelli is delicious, amazing spring rolls, all the meats are fresh and delicate and so good. All delicious! Also, make sure you get iced coffee... it will get you buzzing but so good! Love this place! ALSO... make sure you ask the owners about their story and how they came to Canada it is truly fascinating. Great people, great food, it speaks for itself. :)
Had a friend visiting from Ontario who loves Vietnamese cuisine. Quick google search and Hong An did not disappointed. My Wonton Soup was very flavorful and satisfying. I definitely recommend it!
Ordered two banh Mi sub one chicken stay one beef satay both had no flavour at all. Chicken was dry tasted very bland, all we could taste was mayo. However the veggies were fresh and the bread was decent. Ordered bubble tea and both came with jelly when we asked for pearls . Once we got home to see it was jelly’s we called and they said they were out. Spring rolls were good though.
My mom and I love to dine here, it is our fav Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary! It is always quick service and delicious, fresh, and hot!
Let me start by saying the food was alright, but you'll pay more for less compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. That said, the service was abysmal. We were the only ones dining in at 6pm on a Wednesday. The wait staff was rude and didn't even do the bare minimum that would be expected. No water provided. No basil/bean sprouts brought for the pho. Wouldn't give us pepper because of COVID but squirt bottles of hoisin were okay (not sure where that logic makes sense). No fresh chilis. Like, you sell pho, none of this should be a surprise.Get better food and service 10 minutes away at Pho Hoan Pasteur in Mahogany.
