Make sure to call ahead to confirm your reservation is actually going to exist with the restaurant. We showed up to the restaurant for our reservation only to find out that they were not taking reservations and forgot to turn off the ability to book a reservation on open table. Unfortunately they were full and unable to seat us.
My girlfriend and I came here for a dinner, thinking it was the same owners in Eau Claire, and it moved. Sadly, it's not. When I went to pay, they asked me to swipe my scene card, which I did, and I was pretty sure I paid my whole bill. It showed $8.00 on my scene card on the bill, which was strange, so I didn't think anything of it. Then the waitress came back and said I owed $7.85 which wasn't paid by my credit card and then when I went to pay it, somehow the $8.00 was added and I ended up paying an additional $15.85. When I told the manager, they only offered us a free dessert. If you come here, I suggest you pay cash, so this doesn't happen to you. There is something strange going on with their machine. I have never had this happen before! Don't think I would come back here, for sure!!
Decent foods and beers. Great for friends gathering. Would go again.
**downtown 11th Ave** Walked in assumed it was seat yourself as no one was around to greet us. Sat down and the bartender (in training) came to take our drink order & it was almost 10 minutes after getting there that the waitress (Christina) came to greet us. She said she was the supervisor. She took our appi order which was brought to the table by the bartender. The waitress didn’t get back to our table to take our actual order until 20+ minutes after. At this point the appi and my partners drink was long gone. We enjoyed our meal the food & drinks were great! However the service from the waitress was really…odd… Partway through our meal she walked by the table looked at us and walked away. Never asked how things were. The bartender however came to check in on us before she even came around to take our order. I made a comment to my boyfriend that the service was really not the greatest. I don’t know if she overheard us or not but at the end of it all when she took our payment she made a comment that was really strange. She said something along the lines of “you can tell my boss if you don’t like me if you want” I said “ what? No. why would I do that” and she said “I think it would be funny” in my entire adult life I have NEVER had such a bad/weird/strange? experience with a waitress before let alone someone who claims to be a supervisor. We were there for 2 hours. The service was slow, the waitress gave off weird vibes & really just made the experience strange. I gave her a tip that to be honest she was unworthy of. The fact she made that comment after I already paid and tipped her made it seem like she either hates her job and wants to be fired or she had an issue with us for no reason. Had she made that comment prior to paying I think I would have honestly avoided tipping her. I dont think I could ever consider coming back to this specific location after this experience. I’ve had a much better time at the location in Crossiron & would rather make the drive out of city than to come back to this location even though it’s just a few blocks way from home.
Booked a table for 6 and only two of us showed up. No problem at all. Our server checked on us regularly and got us everything we needed. Didn't mind at all that the rest of our party didn't show up.
We joined Fionn’s for their St.Patrick’s Day celebration! The atmosphere was alive and the staff were friendly and responsive. The fish and chips were on point! Looking forward to going again soon!
Used to come here regularly, not anymore. They appear to be horribly understaffed because everything just takes way too long. 5 minutes waiting at the door to get me seated, then over 20 minutes (!) to take my order. By the time I actually got my order I had been expecting to be at least 2-3 drinks in by that pointThe staff are nice, friendly and helpful, they're just running around like headless chickens trying to keep up.
Edit to the review -I went with my friend today to introduce her to Fionn's. Received a 5 star service from Thomas. I am a Tuesday regular and generally do not call ahead. I was surprised when I reached, that a table had been reserved for me and my usual drink order ready on the table. My experience today made me realise that the timing issue of the kitchen closing early does not matter to me. I will continue visiting this place for the awesome food and the super brilliant service. I want to especially thank, Thomas for his exceptional service. You ensured, that I come again and hopefully bring more people in.Previous Review -Generally a great experience. Service is brilliant and food is great too. Tuesday wings special is what I look out for.The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because, the kitchen closed around 9-9:30pm, which is well before the 11pm closing time informed in the website. This happened to me 2 out of the 4 times that I have visited. So its kind of like a coin toss for me whether food will be available that day or not.
My husband and I decided to treat our son for his birthday at Fionn MacCool's Cross Iron (calgary). The staff are amazing and has exceeded their warm services to us. Their steak lamb shank, fish tacos, and Guinnes steak were equally superb. The servings are really large. Never a waste of money spent on this place. "This is truly a place where you can enjoy the best of food and drink in an atmosphere that encourages sharing good times with great people, that's their Irish hospitality. That's from Fionn MacCool.
Very sad, used to be a great place, not anymore. Order was wrong took along time to get a replacement, waitress couldn't care less about working.
