Unexpectedly decent Chinese food. I always drive by and don't even think about going inside but after a few recommendations from friends, decided to check it out for Dragon Boat Festival dinner with my family. Soy sauce chicken is probably the best in Calgary (needs to be pre ordered). The beef and veggies rice noodles were only so so but everything else was great.
I’m Asian and I’ve lived in both Hong Kong and Vancouver. The food here is delicious! I consider myself a sweet and sour pork chops connoisseur and they make the best here. Every dish we had was authentic and tasty. The prices are great too. We have enough leftovers for 2 more meals. The service was wonderful being a family-run business. I’m definitely making this place a regular for my family. 10/10!

Always ready when they say take out will be ready. Hot and tasty, and consistent flavors. Prices comparable to others as are portions.
Food was delicious. We got the ginger beef here and it was so soft and easy to eat. The hot and sour soup tasted so good and no watery taste like so many other places I've been. The dinner for 2 was more like dinner for 4 even with how hungry my mother and I were. Will be coming back for sure ?
If you have a bigger company, I suggest you always reserve your table. A lot of takeout orders early in the evening. The famous dishes ( e.g. difference kinds of chickens) are sold out early, therefore always try to preorder you favourite dishes. Parking is at rear but not large enough. Price is reasonable and serice is acceptable. Soup of the day is surprisingly good.
Great Cantonese cuisine with good flavours. There are a few order ahead items on the menu you must try like the soy sauce chicken and crab baked rice. Sweet and sour pork is executed nicely. Thin, light crisp battered pork bites sitting in the right amount of sauce. The complimentary dessert is a nice touch.
We used to come here all the time with our family to eat-- the servers would know us and ask where a family member was if they didn't come to dinner. We ordered food today and disappointing is an understatement... The food was horrible and prices have increased ridiculously. We will have to find a new restaurant to go to because we're definitely not ordering from here again! Absolutely horrible!
I'm so sad. I used to love the Macao menu at this restaurant. I lived in Asia for several years and this food was sooo good. Unfortunately they changed hands. I phoned and asked for the Macao menu items and they didn't know what I was talking about. That should have been my first clue. I just assumed a new person was answering the phone. The food came and it was all completely different. I hope they can improve but I will mourn the old food. What I'm I going to do now??? Fortune Food is gone and now Emerald Garden???
We came to celebrate my mother’s 91st birthday and the staff designed a delicious dinner menu for our family that was reasonably priced. They used fresh seafood and made each dish with detail and care.The staff were kind, friendly and understanding even when the grandchildren were being noisy. We come to Emerald Garden often and their food quality and service is consistently great!
