This place is becoming my favorite place to catch a show at, Growing up in the Punk Rock scene small intimate venues like this was more then essential to the total experience, leaving you thirsty for more, Dickens is this to a tee, a great place to raise your elbows and swing your arms in the pit! There's even brick pillars that you can smash your knuckles on! The crowd always makes the night great, and you'll find no better crowd then you will at a show like Dayglo Abortions then at Dickens! Try Dickens Cider...it's the best
First time there and the bouncers/bar staff were friendly and professional. Show was fantastic too! (longwalkshortdock).Side perk- bathrooms are clean and well maintained
Had such an amazing time, good music and dancd floor is quite big.
Went while they had a concert going on, seems like an okay bar, but was hard to tell seeming how you could barely move or get to the bathroom with how crowded it was. (Bathroom was pretty dirty, for sure a squat moment) It definitely needs a sound update too as the band was awesome, but the volume and acoustics kinda sucked cause they are not set up for it! But overall was not bad and saw a pretty cool show!
Dickens is one of my favourite places in Calgary. The owners are incredible people who support the local music and drag scene. Very inclusive and LGBTQIA+ friendly. Staff is always welcoming. A great venue for shows, markets, and more!
Dickens is always a great spot for live music. The fry bar is pretty good too!
One of the best venues for rock'n'roll shows in the city. They have a great selection of on tap beers too! 10/10 will always recommend.
