Terrible commitment to ensuring their customers' health. They have no signs posted to indicate that, as is required for self-serve buffet, a new plate must be used every time a person goes to get food. I witnessed one customer going to the buffet to re-use a dirty plate, until another customer THANKFULLY stopped him before he could contaminate serving spoons and consequently the food! No staff were around to prevent this contamination from happening (which is sometimes understandable as they can get busy with drinks, online orders, etc.), but that's why the signage is so important and needed! Anyhow, this close-call made my dining group wonder how often this type of customer contamination goes unnoticed, and unless/until they post signage to educate customers on the "new plate" hygiene requirement, we will not be patronizing this restaurant.

Had been to this restaurant and liked the food.We ordered for pickup on Mother's Day. When the food was supposed to be ready, they called to say half our main dishes were not available, we accepted beef in place of goat. We were already outside the restaurant. It took another hour+ for the food to be ready. We got home and found 3 items missing. The food was delicious but I wouldn't order for pickup or delivery again

This must be a family businessAs they take care of everything and work passionately, they have real Indian food, real clay ovens, very good service.food taste really good, doesn't make me feel like I am eating a mess if that make sense, as I feel sometimes with Indian food of some other places, I was surprised they have open buffet, main common dishes, I think it was for 17cad, but when I got home remembered about the dessert, I don't think they had any, not sure though! The food seems and feel very clean, again, if that make sense, which this is really important. HahaHighly recommended give it a shot you will be happy

ZERO STAR!!!!. Tried very first time in Calgary. Worst service ever received. We ordered appetizers 2 tikkis and tandoori wings, after an hour they gave us only tikkis. When we asked for tandoori wings, after long wait again they served wings with main course and in main course they forgot about naans. Another 20 mins wait and finally we got naans which were half cooked. We returned naans and then another time we waited long time for food. Finally we stood up and ask for bill, they didn’t offer any apologies. We paid full and left restaurant. Unprofessional business.

Food was tasty. Lot better than most places I visited in Calgary. We visit this place mostly for the Naan. Best quality Naan. Had it not been for the service, rating would have been 5. No complaints on the food. We didn’t realize asking for additional napkins was a problem for the people providing service. Maybe reducing their attitude a notch bit would be great.

Best Indian food I've had in Calgary. And that says a lot as I've eaten at many. I've seen many East Indian customers eating there too which means the food must be good right? Haha Clean facility. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone

Clay Oven is a wonderful place for Indian cuisine. The decor is modern, the location is in the North but still central. My group had ordered quite a few items.Samosas both chicken and beef, which were very good. Crispy, good size, flavourful and not greasy. 5/5Vegetable Pakora, generous portion, tasty and not greasy. 5/5Seekh Kabobs-Beef. Great flavour, a little dry. 4/5Butter chicken, wonderful flavour, good amount of chicken. 5/5Lamb Saag, very disappointing. Lacked salt and flavour, we asked to have it remade. The waitress was apologetic and brought the dish back. However the second dish was a little better, it still had problems with little flavour and lack of salt. 1/5Lamb Biriyani, the best dish we had!! Wonderful flavour, big chunks of lamb and very flavourful. 5/5Garlic Butter Naan, a little burnt on the edges, very little butter. Enjoyable but could have been better with more butter and garlic. 3/5Service, the staff was prompt to help us ordering however we had to flag them down wherever we needed more water or even napkins. 3/5I loved so much of this dinner and will return. I recommend you try it too. ?

Wonderful assortment of Indian dishes. Fresh naan bread throughout the dinner and pleasent service from Miss Sudhu !!

The flavours of the sauce is the best in the city. However I am finding the amounts of meat and vegetables has decreased significantly. An example is the eggplant dish, this was my favourite for years. Now when I order this dish it has more onion then eggplant. The butter chicken has so little chicken in it now that I have to cook a chicken breast to add it if I want seconds. This was not the case a few years ago. I hope this posts helps the team of clay oven to correct this! Honestly too expensive now for what you get.

Love the service and food has been great all the time, though I do remember their Biryani being tastier but by no means it was not tasty this time either. It is one of our fav Indian restaurant to go. I was surprised to see them not busy though. Hopefully people can visit more as I would hate to lose such a gem!!
