For some reason my wife likes this place and continues to order from here. First off-the ginger beef. Chewy and overcooked-it has never been that good in all our times ordering.Second-I can tell from some of our dished color and temperature that they mixed fresh and old together. And the sign of any good restaurant is how busy it is at 5:30 on a Friday night. There was not a single diner in the place. And I have noticed this several times when picking up. It's a ghost town. Perhaps its the dated and faded decor. Yet my wife still orders from them. Not any more-we like the Riverbend place better and I will drive further just for their food.
Pad Thai was incredible. It has more of a Sriracha base and less peanut than other places but it's so good and you get a TON of it. It comes standard with chicken and shrimp added as well. You could easily feed two people from one order.Dining area is still looking like they are closed for covid but they are open for inside dining (as of today) and they also do carry out.
These guys are legit. Bold flavors and fantastic value for money. Big portions, great flavor and service. Im glad we found this place because silver city was not doing it for me anymore. We will come back for sure.What we orderedSalted fish fried rice- they are on point, good amount of salted fish unlike other restaurants where the flavors are muted. My fave.Seafood fried rice - my kids liked this.S&p porkchops- i can smell the spiciness when coming in to the car. Good flavor decent portions.Red curry chicken - curry didnt seem to be color red more like green curry but it was still tasty. Smallest portion size compared to others but still good size.Experience- we are a family of 5 and we didnt finish everything(we usually do!). Coming in the restaurant it didn't look as pleasing but i ordered pickup anyway. The price was lower than other restos, usually i pay 60+ for the same kind of order here i just paid 50+. Upon receiving the bag it was heavier than most restaurants, i know because we order Chinese 2 to 4 times a week from different places. They said pickup after 20 minutes it was a little over 20 minutes but still good. The old lady who served me was very nice. Coming home we tasted everything before the s&p chops became steamed due to the heat. All the flavors are on point and how it should be. We were surprised how the container for the rice was bigger than others and filled to the brim.
The food was wonderful! The staff are always so friendly and patient ☺️ the food is prepared quickly and with very generous portions. My grandma loves this place and I'm so glad she introduced me!
Second time ordering takeout from here and definitely felt it needed a 5 star review! We’ve ordered the Chicken pad Thai both times and absolutely LOVE it. The portions are huge and everything is always hot & fresh & delicious! Highly recommend!
Don’t order.. if your looking for a sign here it is.Ordered tonight and honesty every piece of ginger beef I bit into just crumbled away and there was NO meat inside! Like for real ? same with the sweet and sour pork .. chow mein was ok and the lemon chicken also just caked in batter.Will not be ordering from here again.
Chili island is delicious! They make amazing hot pot and very crispy ginger fired beef, my favorites. The only reason I give 4 star is because they are very busy. They will say 20 minutes but expect longer wait times. Otherwise it's fresh and never disappoints!
We got delivery tonight from chili island and OMFG ! BEST CHINESE FOOD IVE EVER HAD! And like I've probably had over 50 different Chinese food experiences ?. I have been disappointed with alot of Chinese restaurants more than I've enjoyed them, but this restaurants food was very well priced very very good quality of everything we ordered I was shocked at the Quality of the Vegis, cooked to absolute perfection and the sizes were so good for how well the prices were. Really went above and beyond my expectations. This will now be our go to restaurant from now on! Thanks Chili Island! ?
I have been ordering from Chili Island for 7 years and it has always been great food and good service, until yesterday. I was having my sister's family over and placed my order for delivery, after more than an hour it still hadn't arrived. In the past if they were busy they would let me know it would be more than the normal 30 min to 45 min. I called them and was asked to hold while she checked on my order, after 5 minutes on hold I called again from a different phone. This time she told me my order wasn't ready and it would be at least another half hour (as this is their normal prep time it's obvious they forgot to give the kitchen the order). As I now have children complaining they are "starving", I cancelled my order and we ate leftovers instead. Very disappointed as we were all looking forward to chinese and there wasn't even an apology for their error.
Could not tell you if the food is any good. Pre ordered at 11 am for dinner at 5pm , after 3 phone calls and being told it was out with a driver , it was just being packaged , and call back in twenty minutes if it is not there , cancelled the order at 5:50 , dinner showed up at 6:15 .
