We had a great time celebrating my wife's birthday. The food was good and our waitress, Eve, was very friendly and treated us well. The tacos were good and you can combine then. The guacamole hamburger was delicious and the fries were very tasty. There are different deals every day. Maybe my only complaint is the music. I was expecting some Mexican music but that wasn't the case. We will come back anyway. I will recommend this place to others.
Dropped in for lunch with my wife today. Freindly welcome at the door and a great meal ;) We had margaritas and tacos . The margaritas were amazingly tasty and quite frankly we could have spent the afternoon swimming through a dozen or so of them. The tacos , while small were packed with flavor and definitely a treat. We ended with the fan favorite of churros. Amazingly fresh and hot.The service was top notch and if I had any criticisms they would be that the margarita glasses were more like hiball glasses and drew the cold from the drinks quickly and the churros needed more cinnamon sugar.Great lunch find , we will definitely be back ;)
Margaritas are good, shrimp tacos are super delicious! We are happy they are finally back! Nachos is good but don’t add meat to it you will enjoy it better and wings not the best.
We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was great. The street corn nachos were great. The service was excellent. The only negative was they did not have regular Mexican hot sauce which was odd. We will go back again. A nice addition to the burbs
Tacos were small and not much flavour in it. It’s a street taco so no salsa or sour cream etc. there’s also only two kinds of hot sauce. They are expensive for what you get.The hostess was really friendly. The Tres Leches cake was good!
Here on a Thursday night around 630 pm and loved the vibe and decor of the place. We ordered the nachos first as an appetizer which took somewhat of a long time to come and between the appetizer and the main entrées it took sooooo long that we were honestly full by the time the main dishes came out. The tacos and quesadillas were really good and loaded, although the tacos size was kind of tiny. The corn on the cob was okay but very cold but the churros were very tasty. We also ordered the margaritas and it taste more like water and juice than anything, which was unfortunate considering the price. Overall, an okay experience but the service as far as the time it took from when we ordered our food until the food arrived took too too long. Also, another suggestion would be to have more variety on the hot sauces :)
I came here for lunch with a friend today. The food was delicious!Tacos, margaritas and churros. Yum yum! Will definitely be back!We tried the fish, pork and beef tacos. My favorite were the beef and fish.
Absolutely love it here! The new menu is fantastic! We went for Taco Tuesday and absolutely loved every taco we tried. The margaritas were fantastic as well! We highly recommend Calavera! The food is fantastic, atmosphere is great and staff is super friendly!
We figured we'd give this place a shot as a last minute lunch plan. The service was good. Although the server called me "my dear" which always makes me cringe. It's not a welcome term of endearment from a stranger. At least not for me. that would be my first suggestion: drop the pet names for strangers. We ordered 6 tacos, wanted 4 but they're sold in triples. So 6 it was!We got 2 of the beef as they're supposed to be the "best in Calgary". They had no flavour. None. So that was a mistake. The chicken were okay. The pork was okay. The fish was good. Try the fish. The place is beautiful but it's a little hard to figure out what their target demographic is. For a slow lunch, I think the techno music was a bit much. It seems to be a family restaurant when you look at the booths. But then there are the TVs over a really elegant bar which screams pub feel. The music made me think club. But as I said- love the decor. The lighting and fake plants are lovely. So 2 stars because the food was BLAH. The server called me "my dear". Cringe. And the music was just out of place.
Delicious food, good drinks and service to match. We came for brunch on a Saturday and were not disappointed. The flavors were all on point, the tater tots were extra crispy and the salsas were dynamite. The only thing that was underwhelming was the chorizo as it was lost under all the cheese and sauce. I feel like they either need to make it not so small and fine or give you more on the plate. The birria tacos were crazy good. I can't wait to get back and try more of the menu.
