Had a great experience here for a late lunch. Enjoy the 3-course PEKING Duck, ginger beef and eggplant with stuffed shrimp paste. Everything was delicious. I can taste the wok chi in the fried rice. Would recommend!
Always come to this place for its "pig stomach soup with peppercorns and chicken" (胡椒豬肚雞湯). This is the only place I find in Calgary that is comparable to what I have back in my hometown. The other dishes are above average in general with decent portion size.
Not bad for dim sum, it was a nice decor and atmosphere, everything was pretty clean. I really enjoyed their Chinese donut in rice noodle and the steamed squid, the textures for those items were on point. The chicken feet were over cooked and the sui mai weren’t that great. But overall, I would come back again.
This place is phenomenal. We drive across the city to get their dim sum. The service is great - everyone is super friendly and helpful. The food is exceptional. The sui mai (pork dumplings) and har gow (shrimp dumplings) are juicy and flavourful, and other standouts are the no mai gai, (chicken sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves) cha sui bao (steamed bbq pork buns) the steamed spare ribs, water chestnut cake and the rice crepes with scallops.Hats off to Bobby Chao’s, they’re doing something right.
Great barbecue duck and ribs. We were in the second dining room because the first was full. Service was good and courteous. Some dishes there that I had not seen before. I want to go back for more duck!
Very good quality. Ow Lam Bo was excellent - crisp veggies, fantastic broth, meat was juicy and tender and hat a lot of "gun" which the elder Chinese people love. Ju yim halibut was very flavorful and well cooked for the most part except for the occasional piece of skin which I found to be on the rock hard end. Fish maw soup was delicious and tasted like it came fresh from the sea. Service was good and servers were very pleasant. Was mildly disappointed the crab and lobster tanks had tables in front of it so my child couldn't get closer to see them up close. Overall a very good experience and would come back to try more menu items
Don’t go here, the ladies are incredibly verbally abusive. I was just trying to take out for my family and I and Sandra started to scream at me in front of everyone. I was so distraught by the screaming that I cancelled my order and left the place. I will definitely not be going back and I encourage you not to as well. Terrible experience ??
Bobby Chao’s was a great experience with fresh food and great service. Friends took us here. It was really great. We look forward to next time.
We are very disappointed with this restaurant lately. The last order will be our last. We ordered 12 plates of food, they sent 11 from where 3 were absolutely wrong ones. But that is not all, 2 of them seemed to have been warmed up from the freezer to a very hot oven, there were dried out noodles on part of the plate, and a slimy substance on other part of the same plate. It used to be very good restaurant, something happened along the way. Not ordering here again.
RAW minced pork dumplings were served and charged you double when they took them back to cook and served you the cooked again. Waitress was extremely rude and denied about food served raw. Very bad service, this is the worst restaurant in town. Wonder why this is still in business, should be out of business in no time. I am forced to give at least one star here, I would definitely give no star and definitely would never go back. Eat at your own risk.
