Was our first time here and won't be the last! I had the ginger margarita that was refreshing and delicious. Then we had table side guacamole and the salsa tasting. These apps were so good I could have eaten them all with just a spoon! Our waitress recommended I try the Birria tacos which were crispy and flavorful. We also tried the tequila flight. Go here for great Mexican and a fun atmosphere with friends or for a date night!
This must be the dirtiest and worst place In Calgary to get food. This place is unhygienic with rats running around across the restaurant. This place is very dirty, unhygienic and had a very nasty stench. I actually saw rats running around the place. I was served burnt tacos and the chef refused to replace it as I already paid for it. Extremely overpriced bad food and very unhygienic. Stay away from this place as for your health and wallet. Wish I could give this place less than one stars.
This is a restaurant with an amazing vibe and the food was super delicious with authentic mexican flavours... I highly recommend the ceviche, guacamole, carnita tacos, birria tacos and let's now forget the watermelon margarita, although I overheard people at the next table talking about how good the coconut margarita is at Anejo. You will be pleasantly surprise at the flavours... oh and make a reservation because this place gets packed.
We had a wonderful time at anejo. The drinks were great and tacos were huge. I particularly liked the chicken taco. The barbacoa unfortunately was really dry. Overall pretty good, I'd go back for sure.
This place is so good ! Our waitress was really friendly, the food was very delicious! They give you a couple bottles of sauces for your tacos, which is really nice because you can add as you please. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Calgary.
The table side guacamole was AMAZING. Would go back just for that as a snack. The two fish tacos were yummy. And the churros were nice too. Loved the interior and ambiance.
Came in for a couple cocktails, they were AMAZING. The bartender was super nice and made the experience that much better. Super knowledgeable about tequila and mezcal.
I love this place! Ive been multiple times and it never disappoints. They have some of the best table side guacamole in Calgary! It's so full of flavour and the chips are perfectly salted. This time instead of just ordering the regular tacos, we ordered the Birria Al Res and wow they were amazing!!! The consomme to dip them in was delicious, and the pickled onions, cilantro, onions, and the hot mayo on top made these to die for!!! Our server was the best as well!!! She knew we had a concert to get to, so she made sure to put our food order in right away and gave us fast service all night. We can't wait to come back again soon!
Very food margaritas and food. Service was slow, but the place was very busy. Not the best Mexican restaurant but a good experience overall. Would definitely go back.
We have eaten at this restaurant in the past, so we came with an expectation. Sadly, we arrived and the experience did not live up to the past. First service staff seemed spread too thin, and it took a long time for them to return with our drink order. Our table was seated near the door, which made it cool because the hostess kept it open to the outside which was very crisp outside. We ordered the salsa molcajete appetizer which was priced at $12 and it was extremely small portion for that price point. If you are going to charge $12 for canned tomatoes, garlic and onion.. then make the portion worthwhile. The drinks also were extremely small for the price point and you could not taste the tequila..so felt like they were watered down which is an additional dissapointment, and overall it felt like we were over paying for just a mediocre experience and food. We have had amazing dinners at Anejo in the past, so wonder if they are just not working to keep their service levels where they used to be. We will have to think long and hard before returning.
