I just walked in there today wanting to get my son a cake to congratulate him on his last day of grade 7, and for acing his report card. I arrive there in such good spirits so excited to buy a cake from the bakery that has been in my neighbourhood for as long as I can remember. However my cheerful spirit was immediately brought down by the rudeness of one of the people there, (old woman, short grey hair). Upon asking for clarification on which cake was which, (specifically the carrot cake because it did not look like a classic carrot cake, and all of the labels did not like up with each cake) the woman proceeded to answer my question but in the rudest fashion possible, insinuating that I could not read. I didn’t see anything wrong with asking her to clarify for me, and she acted as though I was the biggest nuisance she ever laid eyes on.You could have the most amazing cakes, I’m certain. But with service like that I’d rather take my business elsewhere. Somewhere that will help me keep my good spirits and not ruin my celebratory mood.- 2 stars ⭐️ Worst service ever
Holy heck the pigs ear pastries were 1950 prices and beyond delicious. Well done!?✨️
Alway order tiramisu here but this time found different. Cake is not the same. Cream used to be very light but it tasted heavy and quite sweet this time. Seems they have changed recipe or baker?
My family have been buying cakes from Amandine for 30 years. I have never had a bad one - until today. The gluten free Black Forest cake was so dry that it crumbled trying to cut it. It was an embarrassment to serve to our guests, and a big disappointment for the person celebrating a birthday. Most took a few bites and then left the remaining crumbled mess on their plate. Even the cream could not save it.UPDATE: I decided to return the remaining cake to Amandine so that the baker could experience the poor quality. I really don't think it got past the front service desk. No apology and I am pretty sure it was in the garbage as soon as I walked out. :-(
They had a large variety of great baked goods! Cheese bread, pizza bread, rain bread, as well as fancy pastries, tarts and fancy cakes. The cakes ranged from about $20-$30 and are SO GOOD. Many of them use fresh fruit toppings or fillings. They have double chocolate and black forest and icecream cakes as well. There is a smaller section with sausage rolls and other meat stuffed delicious baked goods too.I do not have a list of prices, but they are very fair and you owe it to yourself to check this place out.One of our cities absolute best bakeries!
Good bakery to go to to find a wide variety of goods and some savory options as well. Nice cheese buns and very good sausage rolls. Try the Bavarian cream fruit cake for a nice light tasty cake. While I think there are better bakeries overall in the city, this place is well priced and has a nice selection
Every baked item I have tried I have enjoyed. I also love the sandwhiches, which I always plan to have my lunch there when I am in the area. It is not really a place to gather with friends although they do have a couple tables, it is more for takeout.
What type of nonsense was this? I cannot believe they would even bother taking custom cake orders. This is unacceptable. Amandine is my neighbourhood bakery, used to go for their goods on the shelves but I won’t be back after this ridiculousness.
They made a delicious vegan chocolate mousse type of cake. My picky family member loved it. The cake was delicious and not overly sweet. The price was reasonable as well. Highly recommend
